Greetings all.
I know scarby just closed and some of us are already having withdrawls.  I have a cure for them called  "Captain Blood: A pirate Melodrama" ;)

Place:  The Pocket Sandwich Theater
Date: Runs July 10th - Aug. 22nd  (Suggested Invasion date:  Aug. 2)
Times:  Thursday -Saturday 8 PM curtain, Sunday 7 PM,  Food & beer service starts 1.5 hours before curtain

Why am I opening this invitation besides having faire withdrawls myself?

My rogue and I have been working with the Pocket Sandwich Theater for 8 years now. I am costuming the melodrama and my rogue, "Jean Flamingo , the Pink Pirate" will be in it.  They would like to film the show on August 2nd and have the audience PACKED with pirates!
You can wear your garb, but keep in mind that due to the alcohol you can only bring street legal weapons.  Also I would recommend that you leave the hoops at home.  You won't be able to sit in the booths with them.  Otherwise we want the audience pack with pirates in garb.

About the pocket sandwich theater:
It is located across the street from Mockingbird Station. (Across mocking bird in the shopping center with Jason's deli) The pocket sandwich theater isn't a fancy place trust me a clean Tshirt, and casual kilt would fit in fine. Many people jokingly call it a "Boots, Beer and Tshirt" kind of theater. The pocket offers reasonably priced food, and liquid libations. Sorry no hard alcohol, but they do have beer by the pitcher.
After the show (which would end about 10:15-10:30) everyone could head over to Trinty Hall.

I thought this would make for a different kind of invasion than many are use to. Besides when is flinging popcorn at actors and your fellow audience members not fun. ?

The Details:

Invasion Date:  Sunday August 2nd
Doors open: 5:30 PM. Be there by 6:30 PM in order to keep your reservation, and I do recomend it. This show has been extremly popular the 2 previous times it has been performed at the PST. It isn't uncommon for them to sell out so, please make your reservations early.
If all of the "pirates" want to sit in the same general area let the box office know that you are part of the "Pirates" group or "Rennie" group. They will call on Wed or Thursday before the show to confirm the number of your reservation. Make sure you let them know then if there are any changes. They are plotting out how to sit the groups together so they need a confirmed number.

Regarding the 'Wee Pirates': This show is rated PG. If any of you would like to bring along the small one's this show would be a blast for the 8 year or older crowd. The 5-7 year olds, depends on their attention span. Though the whole pirates, sword fights and popcorn flinging may keep their attention.  This would allow those with wee one's to attend an event and not worry about a baby sitter.

After the show: We can all head over to Trinity Hall for more liquid libations. OR if you wish you could stick around for the late night show (On a Friday or Saturday night). I don't know what that is at the momment, but it is a thought.
If you head over to Trinity Hall, would you be inclined to allow some of the actors from the show to join you? Trinity Hall is a favorite of theirs and would love to talk to all of you.

If this would work better on a Friday or Saturday, it is no problem as the show is the same every night.

Above all we would love to meet other Rennie people and this is a fun place to do it.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions you may have.

Hope to see you there. ?

I saw "Captain Blood" when it first premiered at PST way back in 199_?!?
It is GREAT FUN especially if they have a similar stage set-up.
Ladystitch, does Rodney Dobbs still work there or have they carted him off to the looney-bin yet?  Who's in it?  Who's directing?  Who's starring?

I am so sorry your highness that I haven't gotten back to you. I have been so busy getting ready for the show.
The show opens tomorrow night and is running until August 22nd.

Yes Rodney Dobbs still works there and did the set for this show.  The set is similar to the past 3-4 times it has been done.

YAY!!  You are all welcomed.  Just make sure you make reservations.  Of the 6 shows so far we have sold out all seats.

The actors are really looking forward coming out to see the whole audience in garb.   Just remember leave any weapons at home. :) You can attack your opponents with the flinging of the popcorn.

I am bumping this back up.  PLEASE , PLEASE  make reservations.  We have sold out every night so far.  I just had a group who didn't think they really needed reservations and had to be turned away at the door.   Please make reservations.  I am really looking forward to meeting everyone.  We want to pack the house with pirates.  It is a great show and we want a great audience.

Hope to see you on August 2nd.  ;D

It was good seeing you this past weekend. Thanks for coming to my show....even if you had no idea I was a part of it. And i will try and make it to yours.... funding  is the only thing possibly stopping me.
What does the color blue taste like?

LadyStitch

It was wonderful seeing you Duckie.  It was odd when you came up to us and said " It is odd not seeing you in your pink."  ;D

We have still been selling out every night.  We are really looking forward to seeing everyone  tomorrow night.

Just got back from the show of "Blood".  What a blast!  Four of us from Faire showed up in Pirate Garb.  Got lots of people interested and re-interested in Faire before the show.  The cast was great, they do a fabulous job in a small stage area.  We laughed, and laughed (fun in a heavily boned 1650's corset)!!!

The food was good and there was plenty of it.  The wait-staff were really good in keeping drinks filled, making sure orders were kept up with.

If you didn't make it, call and get reservations (you'll need them - the show tonight was sold out, too)!  Seating starts at 530, the show starts at 7, and it was done by 930.

If you missed it - BOO!  Hiss!  Get there!

We had a blast too, can't wait to do it again.

I will be looking forward to doing Jack the Ripper in Steampunk/Victorian stuff!

I loved the cast and the atmosphere, food of course too. Audience participating was a lot of fun. I shot popcorn down someone's corset and went to popcorn war with two 7 year old boys.  Ronald and I still had popcorn everywhere, when wee got home. (It was a popcorn throwing show, where throwing of the popcorn is very encouraged, the first basket in on the house!)

Found popcorn in my car the next morning and popcorn on the couch when I got home from work.

It was fun.

::is doing happy dance that her internet at home is FINALLY working again so she can respond::

I talked to the powers that be and the next pop corn tosser will be Dr. Jeckle and Mr. Hyde.   Set in roughly 1850-1900 London.
I'm glad everyone had so much fun.
The show is running still until Saturday August 22nd. Thursday- Saturday doors open at 6:30 , show is at 8.  Sundays doors open at 5:30, and show is at 7.

I'm proud of these guys.  They put on a good show for the crowd.

The waist staff were amused, but very please to see everyone there that night.  We had a great crowd and thus a great show.

I do hope you come back.  Just PM me when you go.  I will try to slip over to see you. :)
