Is that some kind of plastic tubing or a spring with fabric around it?

Dunno if they're called this for real, but Katie Bair (a really cool wig & accessory designer) calls them Cyberlox.

Agreed! They're ADORABLE! You should make an Etsy site - they'd go well there, too, I'd imagine -

That is so CUTE!  I do have a weird question though, how do you get it to stay on your head?

I am betting Kat does them the  same way I and many others do, building them on hair ties.  Some also are built on ribbons or stretch lace and then are tied on.

I use the cloth covered rubber bands so the yarn can ride rather than dig into your hair when wearing them.

For the most part and I am working on many other ways so even people with no hair can wear them.
