OK - We had the prime rib sammich at the POW on Saturday...  It was nothing near what was described on the forum and had I never read a review of it, it would still not have been worth the $13 I paid for it.  Did anyone else experience skimping this year?

I was extremely excited to find that they were serving Guiness this year at all beer booths by way of the Guiness Tall Can.  I was extremely unhappy however when I ordered a Guiness at the Sea Devil and was handed a small cup poured from the tap (FOR THE SAME DAMN PRICE).  Lesson learned: Don't buy beer from the Sea Devil.

I luvvs me some stouts.  But if the Realm is going to continue to fleece us I am going to follow someones advice and just live off of my flask while inside and save the beer drinking for when I return to camp.  I hate to deprive the king of his due but I refuse to be ripped off.

On a brighter note, we did find some decent deals in the way of food - so its not all bad.

to add to what KP said- um, Cider is now priced the same as mead and wine? as in, I paid $26 for 2 full pints (4 servings)

WTH???

I think we're just going to get more flasks and do things that way- OR buy one of those new-fangled Bamboo staff/walking flasks! how AWESOME were those??

I got the turkey leg, first one in years, much improved!
Take my hand and walk with me through life, or send me in the general direction, then point and laugh!

Saw it several different places.  I think we bought it at a little individual stall off to the left of the joust field where the path leads toward the odeon, by the pony rides.  They also had chocolate covered bananas.

MMMM....New York Cheesecake and ghiradelli chocolate...... :D :D ;D

Wow... 5.50?!  Are they the same brand as the ones at Scarby, because aren't those only like $3.... Of course, I'm such a cheesecake addict, I'll probably buy one at 5.50 anyway...  ;D

Geez...  Guess I'm not going to get to do any shopping during AHE, since it sounds like all I'll be buying is food!!!  LOL  I really loved the fruit and cheese platter at Scarby, and if it turns warm at all that's what I'll be wanting, but if it's chilly then the baked potato will probably be on my menu.  Grov mentioned in another thread a place that sells a pot roast sammich, though, (complete with potatoes and carrots) and I hadn't seen it posted in here yet.  Anyone tried this?
