Went up to the Fort Collins Irish Fest saturday.  The Elders were good, but the best band of the show was by far The Young Dubliners.  The most amusing part of the show was that, while they had apparently contracted to have pyrotechnics used, they did so on short notice so really weren't sure what they were getting, or when it would be used during the show.  As such, they had a massive explosion from a pyrocanon during the first part of their final set that just about knocked them over, and shocked the hell out of them and their audience.  The lead singer's response was, and I quote "Holy shiner bock!"  followed by "Did I mention we don't know what we are getting and when?"

I think, overall, they had 10-12 bands for the weekend, plus many fine vendors.  For those who don't work faire next year (or can get away for a day or weekend) I highly recommend making it up to FC for this.

If I know Keith, the lead singer for the Young Dubs, and I have for about the last five or six years, what he probably said was holy shine, not holy shine. That's his standard response to most things  ;D

Erm, yes, Holy shine would be correct.  Typo on my part.
