Thanks, Keeper!  I slack a bit on Sundays.  ;)

Hard to believe there's less than three months to go.  I got to get my crap together!  I STILL haven't ordered my boots, damn it!  >:(

B... to me that just looks like a bonfire waiting to happen.  :o  lol

I soooo wish summer was over already.  It's getting up into the high 90's/low 100's here, and I'm already seriously over it.  Of course, I'm always ready for autumn by the middle of April, but still... I'm just sitting here in the A/C, imagining that it's cool enough for the campfires to be lit.  My cloak still smells like wood smoke.

Rani,
That's............just what I was thinking.  The sooner fall gets here, the better.  I've lived in Texas almost my entire life and I hate the heat that July and Augest bring.  But, I guess it really makes me appreciate the fall weather.  And of course TRF is always a welcome part of the fall!  So let's hope the countdown is a quick one.  Come on TRF!

So...........89 and a 1/2.       ;D
Spiced rum....hmmmmm
Greetings, try this.

RenStarr, every so often (usually around Countdown time), someone or other will ask me why I don't just move Miss Scally and myself down there to TX, to be closer to the majority of our good friends, and, of course, to TRF, as well... and I have to go through the whole "Yurking in the Bushes When The Temperature Rises" speech all over again.  Most just think I'm exaggerating... until they witness it first hand.

I do love the fall, though... and even if we're unable to make it down this year (which looks likely), we both still get very excited when it's finally Countdown time!  :)

I always love summer time.  It brings the heat debate.  Of course winter then brings the evil cold debate.

Me, I thrive in heat and humidity.  I am built for it.  Which means, I have zero tolerance for cold.  No amount of external thermal insulation can keep me warm when the temperature drops below 70 degF.

Rani, not sure how you can use heat as a factor when OKC gets just as hot as any place between Houston and Dallas.  You may have less humidity than Houston, but your heat index is the same.  And the humidity really is only a south Texas luxury.  Once you get past Conroe the humidity dissipates.

My mother lives up in NE Texas and refuses to move down here due to the humidity.  I constantly remind her that it is only humid OUTSIDE  (o:

KP... the average summertime humidity up here is actually almost exactly the same as in TX... and the temperatures aren't a great deal different, either.  The only real difference is that we have family obligations here... otherwise I wouldn't be withing 300 miles of this place!  I would still be up in the mountains, where I belong... and where the humidity is roughly HALF what it is here (and down there)!

The major difference between here and S. TX is that the heat lasts longer down there... so I would be even MORE miserable than I am here.  Believe me... I'm not at ALL saying that here is easier for me than down there... I'm just saying that I have reasons to be here that I can't really avoid... and my reasons for being down there aren't strong enough to get me past the fact that I would have to hide indoors even longer every year than I do up here!  I miss being able to go outside and enjoy summer... and I am reminded of that every time I pass on going swimming or camping at the lake... or just taking a simple walk.

Oh... and I NEVER complain about the cold... at least, not the cold outside!  I do occasionally get too cold in my own house, though... but that's usually in the summer, oddly enough.  LOL  I'll be moving down there just as soon as the climate finishes shifting, though... and it cools down to a comfortable and fairly constant 70*.  :D

Oh, yes... I do believe we're all a few hours late in wishing the lovely Miss Bonny Pearl a very Happy Natal Day, here!  Of course, she's probably just getting in from celebrating, so maybe we're right on time, after all...  ;)  ;D

I hate to ask and i don't like sharing my problems with people, most times, but I'm in need of some good vibes/prayers/healing energy.  My daughter was in a massive accident...head on with a concrete culvert...ejected thru the windshield..multiple facial lacerations...three broken ribs and multiple cracked vertibrae.  :'(  She's been in ICU since Sunday morning and we didn't find out until yesterday afternoon.  Doctors have told us that her spine is ok and that she can wiggles her toes & fingers... Thank God...
