KP... the average summertime humidity up here is actually almost exactly the same as in TX... and the temperatures aren't a great deal different, either.  The only real difference is that we have family obligations here... otherwise I wouldn't be withing 300 miles of this place!  I would still be up in the mountains, where I belong... and where the humidity is roughly HALF what it is here (and down there)!

The major difference between here and S. TX is that the heat lasts longer down there... so I would be even MORE miserable than I am here.  Believe me... I'm not at ALL saying that here is easier for me than down there... I'm just saying that I have reasons to be here that I can't really avoid... and my reasons for being down there aren't strong enough to get me past the fact that I would have to hide indoors even longer every year than I do up here!  I miss being able to go outside and enjoy summer... and I am reminded of that every time I pass on going swimming or camping at the lake... or just taking a simple walk.

Oh... and I NEVER complain about the cold... at least, not the cold outside!  I do occasionally get too cold in my own house, though... but that's usually in the summer, oddly enough.  LOL  I'll be moving down there just as soon as the climate finishes shifting, though... and it cools down to a comfortable and fairly constant 70*.  :D

Now that you mention it, I do recall you speaking of your love the Colorado mountains.

As for me, if the temps shift enough to lower the average temp to 70 in Texas, I will be forced to move further south.  Are there Ren Faires in Equador?

Thanks everyone... she's getting a Cat Scan right now.  She's pretty cut up...like she went three rounds with a moutain lion, cut up.  :'(  Doctor says there might be a back brace involved for more than a few months...

Oh, Fraser... I am so sorry!  I'm very glad to hear that the doctors feel that she's going to recover, though!  Sending prayers and healing energy now... and we will be keeping all of you in our thoughts.  Please let her know that she's got a lot of people praying for her right now!  (((hugs)))

Scally says she is praying, also, and hopes she gets better really soon!

Fraser - adding my prayers for healing and a speedy and complete recovery for your daughter, my friend.

Laird Fraser of Lovatt

Thank you, again, everyone. She's a tough girl, with no "sugar and spice" about her...more like old leather and horseshoe nails.   ;D  I'm pretty certain that once they figure out the small mass the found on X-rays, in her upper back, she'll recover 100%...or as close as possible.  This isn't her first dance with the angel of Death...a couple of years ago a horse kicked her, crushing her ribcage on one side and poking a hole in her liver...she used to like my Loki until that happened.  Can't really drink booze anymore... her body doesn't like it.   :(

BTW...
