I don't go in for the lunar stuff... although i do have some supersitions when it comes to brewing.  I only have one batch done... Nana Pudding and it tastes FANFREAKINGTASTIC!  This weekend it's Strawberry Shortcake/Eclaire... depending on the taste.  We should be done brewing by the first weekend in August.   It costs me about $65-70 a batch to make so doing it all at once would break the bank.  We have some "custom" stuff coming in for some of our next ones... *Specs doesn't normally carry these*  they might drive the cost up a bit.  We'll have sample bottles(all 5 flavors) with us Opening weekend.  ;)

:o  WOW!!!  :o  Whew... that's waaaay more than I'll be spending!  Of course, my flavors likely won't be as complex as yours, either... and my batches will probably be smaller, as well.

I've got my flavorings and sugar already, and I'll be stopping in at the liquor store this afternoon for the rest.  I did run across a website that has some amazing sounding organic flavor extracts I'd like to try, but they're so expensive I almost choked when I saw the price!  Still, they have some flavors I haven't been able to find anywhere else, so maybe next time I'll order a couple and see how they work.  I thought about doing a chocolate eclaire, but can't afford it this year...

'Nana Puddin' and Strawberry Shortcake sound yummy!  Can't wait to taste them all!!!

(sigh)  Wish we could be there for opening...

Oh, and the full moon/eclipse thing is as much about physics as it is about superstition, although that certainly plays a part, as well...

The moon affects all the liquids on the planet, so it's bound to have some effect on my Loki, as well.  Who knows what might happen...  :o  :D

When it comes to Loki, the Moon is is a night light... unless you are making a special batch... aka Hippie style. ( Then you need it to be full to run thru the pastures... looking for cow pies)  ;)

Ooooh, no fungus in my Loki, thanks!  :o  Although... uhhh, oh... never mind.  8)

I happen to be rather fond of that particular night light, though.  It's been known to inspire all sorts of... interesting... behavior!  And who knows... maybe it will share a bit of that inspiration with me, and spark a little magic in my brew.  ;)

Might even have to say a few words over it whilst it's bubbling...  Who knows what kind of potions I might end up with!  :o  :D

Ooooh... I might need to think about designing labels for my OWN Loki, huh?  heheh

we say a few words too!

Nasty: I think this is going to taste great...

Fraser: I think it's going to taste sh*tastic...

Nasty:  Shut up!

Fraser:  No, you shut up!

*fist fight insues*

:D ;) ;D

LMAO  Well, it's no wonder your Loki gets folks all... frisky, then!!!  :P

I'm hoping mine will have a bit of a different effect, though.  Something just as frisky, but maybe just a little more... friendly... perhaps.  ;)  heheh

Hmmm... wonder what sort of words I might say to achieve that particular effect?  :o  :D

I think the last movie I saw at a Drive-In was Smokey and the Bandit, a couple of years after it was originally released.  Our extended family (parents, grand-parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins) took a few trucks, lawn chairs, etc. to the Redbug Drive-in at Fordyce, Arkansas.
Ah! Fordyce, Arkansas! Where Ron Woods and Keith Richards had a bit of a run-in with law enforcement on their way from Memphis to Dallas...  Read Here

Something from Hamlet?   :D

Well, not unless we want everyone to DIE!!!  :o  :P  LOL

Although... maybe one or two quotes from the Danish play could suffice, since it was at least a bit more than just death and tragedy... such as:

"This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.

Or this:

"This is the very ecstasy of love."

But I think maybe something from Twelfth Night might be in order... like:

Love sought is good, but giv'n unsought is better!

Or even, dare I say it... Romeo and Juliette:

Let lips do what hands do...

Of course, there are all sorts of very interesting spells that could be spoken over it, as well...  ;)  :D

Or maybe... just a simple happiness spell would give it the kind of energy I want to share with everyone.  :)

Not sure I want to start anything too crazy in the campgrounds, after all!  :D

Breandan

The last time I mixed chemicals under the full moon, it ended with me waking up on the floor, numb from the elbow down, peppered with shrapnel from a plastic mixing bowl, and asking a can of nails next to my head "wha happened? Woogie...." I learned my lesson.

As an aside, leaving TM 31-210 within reach of a 15 year old boy with ADHD and a Darwinian curiosity never ends well, especially for your garage.

Oh, no worries... we don't even keep a copy of the Anarchist's Cookbook laying around here, and I plan to cool my syrup thoroughly before I mix in any volatile elements, so I'm hoping there'll be no explosions for this first run...  ;)  :D

Loki with a diplomatic bouquet?  I'd love to sample that one!    ;)

Rani Zemirah

Oh, now, Sir Martin... you know very well that diplomacy isn't anything like what I had in mind...  :P

Although, I do admit that... encouraging relations... might be a rather diplomatic way of putting it!  ;)  :D
