I am coming from MD for a weekend durning faire season and would like to pitch a tent instead of paying money for a hotel/motel . Are there any cheap places nearby that allow camping?

They have links on the main PA FAIRE page but those are like resorts that you have to be a member to go and are expensive.

Outdoor World is about a quarter mile up the road and Pinch Pond Campground is nearby. I know there are others around, but those two seem to be the most popular and closest. Try searching in Yahoo Yellow Pages or another search engine for Manheim, PA.

Yea I checked Outdoor world..it seems to be some members only resort type where you pay a lot of money. I just want to be able to go for 1-2 nights.

There has to be somewhere that Renn Faire folks go to camp during the faire. Im trying to find that area.  I was thinking Pinch Pond, thats pretty cheap at $38.00 a night.

Check out the KOA in Elizabethtown: http://www.koa.com/where/pa/38181/  Its about 20 minutes to the faire and KOA's are alway very nice and open to the public.  We stay there exclusively.
Why can't reality be more like faire?

I may go with the Pinch Pond. KOA is more expensive from what I saw, for the same thing and I think Pinch is only a few minutes away.

There are lots of great campgrounds in Lancaster, depending how far you want to drive.  Pinch Pond is the closest.  You can probably find some great deals on hotels closer to the Rockvale Outlets in Lancaster if you want to drive about 30 minutes.
