I know that is the inside of the gown but that bottom finish looks amazing Operafantomet!

Why thank you! The outside is, admittedly, much cooler, but I wanted to make the bottom of the inside skirt cool as well as it can be seen occationally. The skirt is mid-leg long and very fluffy, and the front is open (read: of a different fabric). So although it's not meant to, the inside is sometimes viewable, and that's when I start caring about how the inside looks. Normally I don't care all that much as long as it's solid and comfortable.

I've been sewing for five years and still wonder about skirt to bodice the attachment process. There are so many ways to do it.

Just adding my two cents here.

If you sew the skirt in between the outer fabric and lining you could just replace the lining fabric with fashion fabric and make the dress reversible: http://dressdiary.blogspot.com/2008/08/gamurra.html#reversible_gamurra

You haven't had enough coffee unless you can thread a sewing machine while it's running.
