I can . . . but it IS $5000 dollars worth of new clothes. I'll just hide my garb and hope for the best.

Hmmm, I don't know. My current wardrobe is bargain basement . . . all my money really does go to garb/garb accessories 

I do need to dress better (in the mundane sense) I suppose. I'm 23, it's time to grow up.

Lol I hit the "Time to grow up" phase around 23. Although I still have a couple pairs of jeans with holes in them. I will NOT give up my housework/yardwork pants!!!

You mean your suppose to grow up at some point in your life? Well no one told me and I'm gonna be 34 in 3 weeks. I guess I'm really far behind. Plus it would be hard for me to do a makeover any way. I don't want anyone to tell me how to dress or wear my hair or what color it should be.

Well, personally I say to ignore the naysayers and have fun with it.  You'll end up with a new wardrobe, and a new hairstyle, and the worst that happens is that you dislike it and have to grow out your hair and get more clothes.  The best that will happen is that you find a side of yourself that you didn't know existed and get even more confident in your beauty.  This is a good thing.
