It's called Irish Hooley, in Dubuque, IA.  Advance tickets $8 or $10 at the gate.  I called and asked if there was an additional charge to see Gaelic Storm, and the woman said no.

I am so excited!  I tried to see Gaelic Storm in Galena (at $25 a ticket), but I was sick and didn't feel up to it.  Now I can see them and a lot of other bands for $8.

They were at a local festival in Colorado and the prices were pretty similar.

Here's a story for ya:

We arrived about 10 minutes before the band took the stage. When they did, a crack of thunder sounded. Patrick, the lead singer, said in his great accent "I hope you all appreciate the time, effort and money that went into getting that storm to start right as we started". Sadly, that same storm blew the band, quite nearly off the stage, and we were stuck in a puddle of water huddled near the stage when the show was canceled. True to form however, Patrick, with glasses of whiskey in his hands, came out, crawled over the barrier they, the security, put in front of the stage, and ducked under the tarp that we used as a makeshift shelter. We sang, we drank, and had a rocking good time.

Despite only hearing 5 or so songs, through the speakers... nothing beat "Go home" and "Tell Me Ma", tavern style with Patrick.

Hope your show is either dry enough to get through the whole set, or wet enough to have a memory like this.

Cheers,
