Lest people claim I am being to negative (Nuh-uh! No way, certainly not I), let me start by saying that while my visit Saturday was short, it was very nice to see everyone around the faire while I was there. Didnt get to see everyone, but got in as many visits as I could. I may not necessarily be enchanted by the Colorado Faire anymore, but it's always nice to see my old family.

And while I was not graced with a Hamster by Der Hamster-König (Entirely my fault, I didnt offer up the appropriate sacrifices, and my lovely pooch would have quickly devoured any Hamster brought into his territory...they are good eating after all, ask Demetrius.) The Weasel God was kind enough to inflict one of his minions upon me. Its still clutched tightly to my satchel, and shows no signs of letting go.

Charlotte and Zoe, it was a pleasure to pass a bit of the time with you and your lovely companions at dinner sunday night.

Blushing, Watch out for them Bears in the campgrounds and other places. you never know where they are going to show up to cause you trouble, eh?

And, of course, Congrats to Tanda for almost succeeding at her goal for the year. so close, yet so far. better luck next year, eh? Dont worry, I have faith in you! I still say the competition was rigged though.

I had a fantastic Saturday, and a pretty good Sunday, too! My mom came to visit on Saturday, along with the families of most of the Foxglove singers, so I took some time for shopping and showing her around since I haven't seen her all summer. We had some very good sets, enjoyed our music immensely, and got to play with a bunch of patrons. Platt gave me a duckie, and Lady Delaney took some wonderful photos (aren't they always?).

Saturday night we had a fantastic Fraternity/sorority/toga party. AAAAAAAAA!!!

Sunday went by so quickly I didn't believe it when cannon fired. I felt like I had wasted my last festival day of the season doing everything I always do, instead of . . . I don't know, something more special and meaningful, I guess. We sang, we worked for tips, we picnincked, all as usual. At Cordial cup I was too exhausted to cry, and to emotional to say everything I wanted to say to the individuals I wanted to thank.

Can't believe it's over, and I can't wait for more. Love you all!

Fabulous weekend!

Called in sick on Saturday to enjoy the whole day of Faire, including Roderick turning good at final joust!

Sunday was fun. I was dressed as a responsible adult!

Sunday night was a blast! Ticked off a manager at Chili's with the dual Tuchus competitions. Sweet! Raised $40 for the Save the Boobies fund (that's for the Breast Cancer 3-Day I'm participating in in October) Woot!

Congratulations to Avan! Check out the Tuchus on that one! :)

Glad it is over but sad also. Finally I will get a couple of weekends that I get to sleep in. But very sad as each day at faire was an An Adventure to the Past (Tag line LOL).

Going two days was fun but very tiring. I am so glad I took today (Monday the 3rd) off. I'm not so sure I could make it two days many times at faire and with a 1.5 (2 last night from traffic construction and accidents on I-25) makes it hard.

Both Saturday and Sunday started off very nice. I was in high demand for my Mega Pixies to work but I'm not complaining I enjoyed each moment. As soon as I was in I stopped by Mistress Charlotte's but she was so busy she didn't even know we stopped. Seeing the lines at her place is a wonderful thing as she is the best face painter at faire. Plus I know it helps out for her business. Toki and I shot up the Hill to the pavelion and he fetched us some tea while I waited for the Court to arrive for a group photo. I was handed four other Da Vinci boxes to shoot the photo with besides mine so image trying to hold each one to snap a couple on each then to use my own Da Vinci box. It's not a bad photo but I really wish I would have time to arrange them as there where a couple in back that were a bit dark. Looks like a job for Photoshop... or not :)

Once that task was done Toki and I headed back down the hill or a visit to a place of privacy and to get my parasol fixed. it was cracking on the handle and had to have latago wrapped around it. While I waited RenaissanceBarbie rushed out from Toki and I favorite relaxing spot to do a Foxglove Madrigal shoot. Right Place Right Time. The shoots I took are beautiful and I cannot wait to get them posted. The four ladies are all stunningly beautiful and fun to photograph. I think you all will be pleased with them. Just do one thing... remember me when your as famous as Mediaval Baebes :)

Toki and I walked around the east end and headed back west to the waterwheel area snapping photos all along the way. we stopped for yet more Iced tea and was invited to sit in the Pavelion with a wonderful man named Carl. We chatted a while with him and enjoyed the sit in royal honor for the first time ever.

After leaving the Royals pavelion we wondered about more. Nearing Lunch we felt the need to finally have Steak on a Stack. OH how wonderful even those are even for the price. We bumped into Nelson Chen and funny enough he snapped a photos of me holding my camera and eating steak on a stack with out me knowing. I got to sit and chat with him for a few moments and it was refreshing to get to REALLY chat with him. We talked Da Vinci boxes, Photoshop, and RAW. I really wish I had just one of Nelson's Da Vinci boxes as they are 20+ Mega Pixie boxes and he shoots in RAW which requires you to use Photoshop to edit down. I now understand why he gets all the color he gets. I told Nelson to be at Rose Stage at 3:30. I felt it a good thing to have two of us documenting the event that was to happen. Before I left Nelson told me I had a very good eye. This means a heck of a lot coming from a per Thank You Nelson if you read this.

More photos and more wandering. We ate lunch in our normal spot to the east of Rose Stage where the Rogues usually are. I was serenaded by Pirate Elvis. I call him Elvis as he came on Sunday as Elvis in a red jump suit. He really looked more like Neil Diamond. Toki sat and relaxed in this shady spot as the heat was getting to him. He was dizzy and weak and resting and drinking helped him a lot. I think the Comb Morion was not helping and absorbing heat on his head even though he wasn't feeling it directly.

While Toki relaxed in shade I wandered about and snapped yet more photos. I was entertained while Professor gave a history lesson. HUZZAH Professor I was quite Impressed as I am a history buff and a Civil War Buff. Before I left Professor I was finally told what the deal at 3:30 was all about. before that I had no clue. Hey- thanks for the suspense you where killing me with it.

I was told my the Duchess of Lennox (Margaret Douglas as she walked by on parade she reached over took my hand leaned in close and told me it was a real blessing to have me there this year at faire. WOW two in one day was making me feel really good.

At 3:10 I headed to Rose Stage and took a few photos of Celtic legacy in action while waiting for the even to transpire. Nelson and I sat next to each other and watched and shot many photos. I wonder how many memory cards he went through shooting RAW (They eat up a bunch of Mega Pixie power as they are HUGE files).

What fun that was watching and seeing the garter ceremony, Congrats to all who earned them what an honor that is.

Rumor had it that Captain Morgan was to prove he was still alive at 4:00 at the Royals pavelion but this did not happen. So Toki and I wandered about and I shot yet more photos. I will say some of those I shot where a bit.... Hummmm. NC17... well almost.

While I waited for the Pirates to materialize (which they didn't) Marquessa of France (or I think it was her with her beautiful Sausage curl hair and gliding) told me she always admires my garb. OK Three was to good but very welcome. But It was to end as the FOOLISH prince who is so unsure of his own gender called me a HE. Stick Pony Girl and I both tore into him for that one so he felt small. Something was up with men that day as Tanya who works with Zoe was called "Sir" Hum... me OK her NO WAY. SHEESH MEN! :)

At 6 Toki and I wandered near the front gate where he got a couple of cute photos of me hugging the Marquiche. What a wonderful man he is and it was wonderful to get to know him better this year.

After cannon I ran to the car grabbed the tripod for group photo. This was a very fun event as Beth our beautiful Queen wooed one of the German Brothers. It was fun to set the timer, then try to run in full garb to get set for the photo. I made it every time but the last someone pressed the button for me. I look at those photos now and laugh to see it grow in numbers of people, many I have No idea who they are.

Sunday was a tough day as we got to bed around 10:30 but sleep didn't happen for me until after 11. it was a rough night as I woke up freezing and teeth chattering. This made it hard to get up Sunday at 5 for the long drive back to faire.

Sunday was peace time for Toki and I. I came as Capt Gabriella Fullpepper the Scarlet Raven and had Mistress Charlotte paint my face. I'm no longer a virgin in that. I wanted a raven in reds but it looked more like an eagle but was still beautiful and creepy as it's eye was my eye and it watched you. I started to refer to it as my "Eagle Eye" I took far less photos on Sunday and sat in shade for a lot of it. I was invited again to do a group photo this time with the fairy gathering. Once again with a handful of cameras I snapped away and forced the Mega Pixies into my slavery but this time against there own kind :)

I wondered off and left Toki and Captain Jack sitting for a bit. I gathered up two roses and gave one of them to Toki (his birthday was Sunday) and I wanted him to know how much I love him and since he gives me a rose with each visit I felt it time to give him one. This time it was a surprise as he was not expecting it. The 2nd went to Captain Jack (new one) He and I meet on the first day of faire and we have become close friends in that short time. His was a rainbow rose as it had a lot of meaning for both of us. He was shocked to get it and it made his day and faire.

I was told once again of pirates gathering and I guess it was fitting since I was dressed as a Pirate. I was really a noble kidnapped by pirates and forced to dress this way :) The pirate event was interesting but not what I expected.

At cannon Toki and I sat by the wooden pan and Carl whom we meet Saturday (invited to sit with him in the Royals pavelion) gave me a beautiful Copper color wax rose.

We waited for many and didn't see them all. It was after 7:30 when we got out of the parking lot for the long drive home.

It was a wondrous year for Toki and I and we wish to thank each of you for the magic and friendship you bring.

HUZZAH to ALL!

I had a great time this weekend! Thanks to everyone who was so nice to Sarah, Monty and I, despite how disgusting we looked on Saturday! We love doing the castaway thing, and we're slowly picking up more survivors from the shipwreck, it seems!

Sunday was even more fun, and the treasure hunt I ran for my crew went really well. There was so much going on I can't possibly mention it all, but I too was excited to watch the final joust for the first time in forever, and amused that Rodrick turned "good" at the end. (by the by, what happend to Windsor? Wasn't he the dark prince of Windsor?)

Anyhow, Delaney, thanks again for being patient with me at the end of the day! It was great to finally see the magazine.

And finally, it was really nice to sing with you all again at closing gate on Sunday. I'm sorry I totally forgot the words to General Taylor, and then sang the wrong verse of Parting Glass first, but I haven't actually sang either of them since last summer (which is sad. I so badly want to start a pirate band), but really, if I hadn't screwed up it just wouldn't be me, would it? Heh...

god speed, good wind, and safe travels. :-*

one last time, as our Briggadoon sinks into the sand.....

Of all the money that e'er I had
I've spent it in good company
And all the harm that ever I did
Alas it was to none but me
And all I've done for want of wit
To memory now I can't recall
So fill to me the parting glass
Good night and joy be with you all

Oh, all the comrades that e'er I had
They're sorry for my going away
And all the sweethearts that e'er I had
They'd wish me one more day to stay
But since it falls unto my lot
That I should rise and you should not
I'll gently rise and softly call
Good night and joy be with you all

I seem to recall seeing a short video of someone, late Sunday afternoon, who looked like me from behind. You will note, however, that on the Sunday in question I was wearing a different hat and, as stated before, had unfortunately missed fair.

I asked my twin brother and he admits your mistake. Oh well, nice try with your video and photographs and witnesses and evidence- that's all we need now- to be bringing facts into it...

This song has become harder to hear this year since the memorial for Joe and hearing Rali try and sing it without breakdown. She and almost everyone else failed.

I had a great weekend and it was nice dressing a little different on Saturday. I had to have all my flasks in a picnic basket and used a valet to carry them. ;D Cordial Cup was wonderful and hearing everyone sing "Costumes for Rent" back to me was a heart filling experience. I still try not to ponder too much on it so my allergies make my eyes water. Yeah its allergies.

Are you sure that wasn't the Ghost of John Lennon you saw running about. You know Yoko used to make Johns favorite dish Yakashima Hamster which is considered a real treat amoungs British rosk musicians who marry oriental women who think they can sing but really can't.

Gauwyn, where you by chance in Scotland and pissing off a bunch of Highlanders?

Yes, that may have been it! That would explain why I woke up in a sheep herd?!?

You two should try to make it to KC or MNRF - any chance?

I think KC would have a higher chance than Minnesota as Toki hasn't been working much and my job ends in Sept/Oct. Lets hope we can make it
