Ideas for boffer war....

 Up here, at the Ct RF,  on the last weekend of Faire, we have a boffer war between the barbarians and the pirates.  I am looking for new ideas for weapons.  First year, the Barbs had the usual boffer weapons, , hoardes of people - we, the pirates, who were few, had squirt guns and flour bombs ( we got creamed! ). Last year, more even numbers and more pirates had boffer weapons so basicaly a draw.  Our 'secret weapon' was water ballons - with the rumor that a few had actually a substance known as 'Liquid weed puller' in them - to re-create the stinkbombs that were ligitimately used by pirates in the GAoP, don't ya know.  LOL, that put a damper on people joining the Barbarians!  And we never used any of 'em!

So we, the pirates, are looking for more creative methods, weapons or tactics!  So far this year , we got a air powered netgun and more netting to throw over the barbarians....

Wait CtRF as in Connecticut? (wonders to self)

As for unique boffer-ish weapons? Nerf guns work excellent. You can easily paint them up and modify them to look more old fashioned ish. Flower bombs and water balloons work well. So do bean bags. (I'm totally trying to think of all the kinds of things we do when I LARP) Um... that's all I've got for now, but if I think of more, I'll let you know.

Nerf guns were tried.... not so effective.   
This is like a general melee, with about 150 combatants.  Informal. No judges or refs.  Nerfs are such a light hit that a lot of people didn't even know they were hit.

Well there is always the bucket o' water approch, water baloons, boffers outta pool noodles would do good

I'll see if i can get my buddies that play with boffers to noodle over things for ya.. Nothing is more dangerous than a rennie boy with nothing to do
