Lady Anne Clare

Here's my finished gown I wore yesterday at Casa Loma.  It's the first noble garb I've ever made and the second garb I've ever made.

I love historical sewing for the lack of zippers ;)

Sagittarius, that's the second garb you've ever made??  Please tell me you have some previous experience with sewing, or feelings of inferiority will overwhelm me!  Just drama queening.  Seriously though, that looks really good.

Lady Anne Clare

Thank you very much  :)

I've been sewing for about 5 years now.

Thought I would share my hard work. I have been working on this for the past 4 months. I am self taught (trial and error) and have only been sewing since March of this year. I made everything I am wearing from the bodice to the hat. I am very proud of my accomplishments, which would not be possible with out the assistance I have received on this forum. Everyone has been so nice and helpful when I have had a question and I just want to say thank you.
Let me know what you think...  ;D

Sealion, I love that fabric!  I can't see the belt very well, but it looks like medallions?  Very nice. The head piece is very different too.  Very Midievil...Robin Hood watch out!  I hope you feel as stunning as you look when you wear it:)

Lady Anne Clare

Renisancegirl, I absolutely adore your ensemble.  It's stunning  :)

Beautiful gown, Renisancegirl! Love the colors!

Thanks, Merry! That was my 15 minute attempt at a barbette and fillet that I ended up only wearing for part of the day. Last year there were a lot of people at Silver Leaf in medieval gowns and veils so I felt out of place in my 16th century garb. This year there were none so I felt silly in mine. :sigh:
