I didn't make the bodice or hat, but I did make the skirt and chemise to this outfit. The skirt was actually a part of a Victorian gown that I made to wear to a Masque.  Both the top and skirt are done in Satin, and then the skirt has a lace overlay on each panel. A lesson I learned while making that Victorian gown: Never, EVER, put a lace overlay on top of Satin unless you are prepared to be bald from hair pulling!

My next project is going to be my wedding dress.  I have until June 26th, wish me luck!

Congrats and good luck!  I'm planning to make a renaissance gown for my wedding dress as well, but haven't gotten started on it yet.  Fortunately, I've got a little more time to work on it, so I'm good lol.  Can't wait to see pics of yours in the future :D

Thanks guys.

The colors were striking in that it looked very Goth and Vampy. Unfortunately, hubby forget to take some photos of me in it as I wore the ensemble with a black wig, Goth makeup, lace gloves, and the Bell Topper.

When not dressing in my Noble garb, my other persona is that of a Vampire from the ages.

Ladt K that is so cool! That is my persona, a vampire, I have always loved the mystery and beauty of the vamps. I took a lot of pictures yesterday in my outfit and I will post it shortly. I take horrible picture and I was tired yesterday so they came out extra bad so I need to weed through them, lol.

lady K you are bloody awesome and you sew beautifly. The moment I have enough saved up I want you to make my first garb outfit, its one from Ebay and I hope its something thats doable.

I wish you were able to get pictures from your outfit yesterday I bet it looked great!

These aren't great pictures of the whole outfit because much of it is covered up, but I made everything but the boots, including the jewelry.

Oh no! Would be so cool to see pics of it "in action", with accessories. Love the fabric.

I haven't been here in a long time, I've missed all cool sewing updates! I've marathon sewed a wedding dress for my sister. One would think a plain, white dress would be a simple project, but I often find these the hardest... White, smooth fabric, non-historical cut... Nothing to "hide" behind, nothing to "razzle-dazzle them". And such a short time to make it, exhausting. But, I'm finished and the wedding was wonderful!

Truly amazing dress.    :o
I'm sure the fact that it's for your sister makes it that much more special.  For both of you!!

I agree with gem. There's a great deal of elegance connected with simplicity.

That's the best preggy wedding gown I've seen.  I shall have to bookmark it for reference. The notes and comments about the skirt are particularly helpful.  What a lovely result!
