Tixi

It has its share of issues (e.g. the back shoulder width of the overgown is not as wide as the yellow kirtle's back - fixable), and it's not supremely special to me, but after almost a year of laying in a bin, this dress is finished. Needs guards, needs the back shoulder narrowed, but finished.

Yellow kirtle is medium weight linen from fabrics-store.com. Overgown is a medium-light weight worsted(?) wool (supposedly 100%) from ebay - so soft! The wool has a bit of natural bias stretch, and sewing with linen is a bit like trying to sew water, but I did it and it's over. Yay.

He had a great time, and is looking forward to getting the pants, and a weapon lol.

Gorgeous work, everyone, as always!  Lady Caroline, is that Casa Loma in the background, by any chance?  I've seen some photo's of the place, and as you are in Ontario, I'm guessing it just might be!  How thrilling to have an actual castle as the setting for your Faire!

WOW people!!!  Nice work and well done!!!

I love it when the kids gt dressed up. My Granddaughter wants a cavalier styled dress. She picked out her colors of Blacks and reds.

Tripletap, YAY!
I forgot to mention that in the recent thread about kilts, there is a photo of R in his blue plaid kilt, wearing the Fantasy Fashions doublet, for a reference.

Yes indeed, it is Casa Loma. It's a very tiny faire compared to the faires in the U.S, but the setting cannot be beat :)

I think I might have to arrange a trip to go  ;D

You will like using that particular Doublet pattern. Mine is getting so ratty, I need to reorder it. But then, the one I have is 9 years old.

Tixi, your outfit is beautiful.  I love the colors!

What pattern did you use for the wool over dress?

Thank you.

Rosamundi

Tixi, I love the yellow and slate/black together. And the inside lacing is a beautiful touch. Well done!

Lady Caroline, you and your son look great together - and the setting of that photo is amazing, too. That's a keepsake shot for sure!
