There is always a rotten apple somewhere that spolis the whole bushel.

Lovely Bodice, sad story.

I love Lorraine's work, and the bodice she made for me as a gift after I finished my chemo treatments is still my very favorite piece of garb, period!  Wonderful talent, and a wonderful heart!  :)

Thanks Ladies :) As of yet they haven't managed to press any charges, they're having difficulties with it being through paypal and so many different people from different areas having to report to their local police for small amounts, instead of having one jurisdiction for a larger amount. If you want to look up the thread do a search for Christina and Jeff Wise, I would post the link to the forum but I don't know if that's against the forum rules here. The worst of it is they said they used the money for drugs, not a big shocker I know, but so infuriating.

Lovely bodice!

Whenever something horrid like that happens, I remind myself that Karma (or any other name you choose to call it) does exist and while someone may "get away with it" for now, the world WILL eventually catch up to them for a full accounting.

Thank you Lorraine for being so big hearted. The bodice is lovely work, obviously good craftsmanship.

Tah Dah! 1 pair of new bloomers!

Now what is not immediately clear from the photo is the insanity involved in doing the bottom trim. Not once, but TWICE my husband listened to what I said I was going to do, and nodded sagely without noticing the error in the logic. The first time, I ended up doing it completely backwards and inside out - the opening for the ribbon was on the inside of the leg instead of the outside and had I kept going, the lace trim would have been on the inside of the bloomers.

The second time, I at least got everything on the outside of the bloomers, but my ribbon still ended up on the inside of the leg. We decided we didn't care and had a good laugh! :)

Next up, a doublet mock up!

Rani Zemirah

YAY!!!  Your bloomers are beautiful, Lady Kett!  Wonderful work, and I applaud your determination...  :)

(sigh)  I suppose that should give me the impetus I need to start these projects I'm supposed to be working on... but it's soooo much easier to procrastinate than to actually get started.

Bloomer fun!  Nice job there!

This is a bit OT for period, but it's what I've just finished off!

Not very good pictures.  The camera didn't like the light levels!  The sequins and beads were fun - all over that top!  And the buttons got covered in the silk lining as the satin is too thick for the tiny buttons.

DonaCatalina

very nice. I may have to copy that lace top. ;)

Thank you.  It's an adaptation of a current Vogue pattern.

Me- "No problem"
Friend- "I'd like them to be red and black with gold braid and be really short"
Me- " :o ???
This is what I came up with. I have no idea if they'll work. I put them on my son even tho he is 4 inches smaller in the waist and he declared the lining,"soft and slippery".

Lovely work people!!!

Kate!! Isn't it fun to make something mundane once and a while???? I will be doing that soon for an upcoming event.

The concept of a mundane wedding gown is one I rather like...   ;)

But yes, this was indeed a fun project.
