Lady Seasan
You look beautiful!!!

Gem, thank-you very much for posting that photo!!  I cannot get the HTML links.  Yes, you will see my son and me next weekend (he's on the far left in the green doublet, and I'm in the blue thrum cap).

Rani, thank-you for the kind words!  I really didn't like doing the front closing bodies, and the short sleeved chemises; but that's what they wanted.  And, as all of us have said again and again, the goal isn't to be ONLY historically accurate; the goal is to have FUN!  We all had fun!

This was my friend's family's first ren fest!  (those three people on the right).  How wonderful they threw themselves into it, and garbed up for the occassion!

I can't get the html code to show!  I made all the garb in this photo, and most of the other photos in this set (with the exception of the one that has Gauwyn and MG in it.)

If anyone can get them to post, please feel free!

When you click into a photo in Flickr, there's several tabs over it. One is saying "share this". If you click on it, you get several options, one being "Grab the HTML/BBCode". Choose this, and it'll give you a code to use in forums (BBCode) and websites (HTML). You can also pick out the direct link from the HTML option - it's the one ending with .jpg.

Here's the HTML one (for web sites etc):
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/14466560@N02/4930111702/" title="Photo0060 by mbutchg, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4077/4930111702_ef29027aca.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="Photo0060" /></a>

And here's the BBCode one (for forums):

Last weekend, a friend invited me to a medieval themed dinner. I don't have anything medieval, neither does he. He wore 16th c stuff. I refused. I ran out, bought a pattern and fabric, and made this:

It's costumey, not h/a, of course... I've always wanted to make one. :)  I screwed up the neck, it doesn't lay quite right. I didn't use interfacing, and when I ripped out the collar and redid it, the dress wasn't the same again, lol... I've been skirting the flatlining / interfacing issue for years, so I was kind of glad it happened on this, because I obviously needed to learn my lesson. And boy, did I.  I finished the dress in a week, which is a record for me. And of course the whole time I was itching to work on my h/a projects, lol... but I'm super glad I did this, I learned a lot. :)

LOL  I knew it!  I'm starting to think no woman is satisfied unless she's freaking out the night before Faire, wondering where on earth did she put that _____, or how can she possibly finish that _____ in time?!?  :D

too funny!  Last year I stayed up the entire night before festival finishing our two princess's gowns and making my daughters crown.  They were only half done the night before.  I always say I'm not going to do it and always end up doing things last minute LOL

hahaha  yup that's me right now.  I have garb to wear, nothing new, but I have something.  I'm leaving tomarrow afternoon for MIRF, and since about ten last night I have been conspiring to make a medieval dress.  What am I thinking?  Thankfully I see I'm not any more insane than anyone else around here.  weeeeee for last minute garb sewing!

To save my sanity and the money I didn't go threw with the medieval dress.  :(  Sometimes I just have to give myself a wake up call.

Lady Season!!! I am so proud of you! You look smashing honey I am glad the bodice came out!

May I suggest by looking at your gown you might want to bring your hoops in 10 inches on the bottom, and I would suggest adding a petticoat so the hoops do not show anymore!

Good for you the colors are lovely on you and your face looks so healthy!!! So excited for you!  Okay so I have to ask now??

WHat is your next piece?? LMAO!

Good for you! Huzzah!
