Decided to finally bead my bodice for my nobles garb.

I'm thinking about taking green seed beads and going around the vines with them. What do you think? Would that be too much?

LadyFae

LOL!  I don't think it would be too much, in fact, while looking at the picture of the beading I was thinking that it would be pretty with green sead beads on the vines!  =D

I am loving all the new garb, I just now have to get the energy to sew this years ensembles, but this pregnancy is tapping all of my energy

I can understand that.  I just set little goals every night, and if I can get those done I'm a little closer to having new maternity garb for myself.  Even doing a little bit get's your project a little closer to done. Due to lack of energy, only getting 1.5 hours of sewing done stinks, when I use to get 2.5. but like I said, every little bit helps.
It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

I'm definitely looking forward to all of the maternity garb. I like the idea of having to work with a totally different body shape that's constantly changing. It seems not many people have made/posted any. I think it would make for a good thread too. For people who get pregnant to look at and figure out what they can do as well.
Things are shaping up to be...
Pretty. Odd.

Finally completed my Elizabethan dress!  I want to thank the forum people for your never ending help and advice. This is where my "ends to the cartage pleats" and "Beading 101" and "Gussets...  AUGH" posts were all about.
I had to start from scratch on this as I had nothing for this dress.  So I had make all the pieces.  Farthingale, bumroll, underskirt, forepart, overskirt, bodice, sleeves, high necked smock and hat!
If you would like to see more about the construction of the dress or a review of the Margo's shirt pattern, you can view my journal at:

Hey, I recognize that smock fabric!!  ;D

Well done, Sorcha! Love the fabrics; how long did it all take you?

Marietta Graziella

Sorcha I can't wait to see it in person!!  Any chance you'll wear it to pub night next week?   ;D
I'll dress up if you do!
Nothing clever to say here.  Not enough caffine yet.

Sorcha, that is beautiful! Excellent! HUZZAH!

It looks great!  Post pictures with you wearing it

Thanks everyone!  I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

@gem:  It took about 3 months of mostly weekends and a few weeknights when "real" work would allow.  Each of the pieces, except the bodice and overskirt, took about a weekend a piece.  That's what winter is for up here in the frozen north  ;)

@MG:  Humm...  It might be a bit much for an evening of the book of cheese.  Although I could pull out the kilt instead!  Close enough??

Okay, while mine is not NEAR as stunning as Sorcha's (LOVE it and JEALOUS!), here is my latest:

I call it middle-class, my friend calls it peasant class--whatever it is, it's DONE! Now onto my gypsy costume revisited!
