Very impressive DragonWing. Not to mention the black and red suits you, but it is overall a eye catching set.

My new silk bodice!   I made it this morning.  :-)  Which is why the eyelets look funny.  Those are getting fixed as well as a couple of other minor issues.

DonaCatalina

Very nice. I love that color too.

Isabella, very nice.  I actually like the picture of the bodice lying open better, but then I'm all about seeing the pattern and boning layout.  I just spent about an hour and a half on your SCA website.  I have a sew crush on you.  ;)

If not.....then it will be a little while before I figure out how to get my bodice pics up!! (I still need to upload them)

Lol!  Thanks guys!  I know it's not quite as impressive lying on the floor as it is on but I wanted to get the picture up.

This isn't quite done - I need to redo the trim on one side and finish the eyelets in the back but you can see what the dress looks like.  I was testing a new way of doing the Tudor gown.  Rather than a bell sleeve, I took a rectangle and folded it to create the bottom part of the sleeve.  I also didn't have shoulder straps on the bodice pattern itself, but attached them as I attached the sleeve.

DonaCatalina

It looks good. I would like to see it on a person to see how those sleeves work with actual arms.
The construction idea really intrigues me.

As always, Lady Kathleen, your work outshines the Queen's jewels!

isabelladangelo, I love the sleeve! It's very graceful.

our first garb:) certainly not as fancy as most here!

I drafted my own patterns, and did the bodice using the corset generator. The bodice was a little bit too tall, as it came up over my chemise when I sat down, and I need to make the next one shorter in the back, so I can lace it tighter, but it held up well all day and I was happy with it. My entire outfit cost me $9.50...7.50 for the duct ties in the bodice ( I used paint stick busks), and I paid my brother $2 for the deep purple, outermost skirt, which used to be his curtain:) lol the rest of the material was stuff I had on hand that had been given to me (I got a bunch of  my grandmothers when she passed away, and my MIL cleaned out her stash and gave me a bunch over the summer).

My husbands outfit, I took somebody on this forums advice and rather than use the rectangular method to make the shirt, I made it more like a capital A/triangular shape, and it worked out great. The waistcoat is just basic rectangular construction, and the button holes took FOREVER to finish, I was still finishing them on the day of faire! the sash, bandanna, and hat belonged to my sons former Capn Jack costume, and I also made some beads on hemp to dangle.

Because of the trouble I had with the last shirt I made my husband, this time I made a mock up first. I didnt want to use any good material, so I used some very awful checker/cows/sunflower/etc material that MIL had given me. Once basted together, I called him to come and try it on......he was so horrified, waving hands and saying "no no no, I said Id do the pirate thing, but im NOT dressing up as a farmer, NO" lol  In all, his outfit cost 7.50, which was the cost of the white fabric for the shirt. Certainly bargain basement and not at all fancy, but solidly constructed, and we had fun. These pics are from the end of the day, we probably looked a little bit more together several hours before, but, after 7 hours in the sun, this is us.

Next year we want to add boots:)

Well done! Sewing garb and building a wardrobe should be a fun process. Enjoy it.  :D
Nothing clever to say here.  Not enough caffine yet.
