Thank you Kathleen and Donna!  I can't wait to make more intricate garb for them...but I want to be able to get more than 1 day at faire in them (before they sprout in size and grow out of them).   I really think the youngest would look adorable as a young King Henry with his cupid bow lips and his hair is going curly!

My favorite part was when I consulted my brother about how he and my sister-in-law felt about the boys having swords (you know, some people don't like the weapons as toys thing)...my brother's response?  "They're boys, ALL their toys become weapons!"  LOL!  ;D ;D ;D
I'm not fat, it's just that a skinny body couldn't hold ALL THIS PERSONALITY! ;)

LOL, Amy, that's hilarious! When my nephew (who is now 15 and learning to drive!  :o) was a tiny, tiny toddler, he kept picking up sticks to play with. His parents quickly scolded him that sticks were dirty, etc... and then, one day when he was about 4, somebody gave him a toy sword. REVELATION!!! That's what he wanted, all along, and the "dirty, pointy sticks" were his make-believe swords until he finally had a "real" one to play with!

All men (and most of you women I guess :P ) raise your hand if you have NEVER played swords and or staffs with sticks, guns in a pinch too.

Wow, tough crowd.   8)

LOL!  How about staff fighting with sawed off wooden broom handles back when they were really made of wood?  That's when my boy cousins found out girls can hit hard.

My grandmother told me that girls should not play with knives when I was in 3rd grade... now I have a ton of daggers and assorted sharp and pointies.

PollyPoPo

Grandma was right; girls don't play with knives, or guns, or cudgels.

When a lady pulls out a weapon,she ain't playing around. ;D

Evening all,

Amy finished her latest dress just in time for the opening cannon tomorrow morning.  This is the one I made the fan to go with.  She hopefully will be able to find a hat to finish it off -

BTW, any recommendations for hoop skirts?  The crinoline is a bit hot in Texas...

Here is my latest items. Yes one of them is mundane, but the other is the fuzzlet's 'warm weather' outfit.
this is sleevless summer dress with little duckies on it.
Here is her little fairy outfit.  I want to make her something for her head, but not sure what just yet.
It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.
