Stella Twilight

They needed to look as vastly different as possible.  The cloak was originally for a presentation based on the fairy tail many furs where the princess was given a coat made of fur from every animal in the forest.  So I needed every sort of fur texture and color I could find that was sort of natural. All in all I think the whole thing cost less then 28 is easy to wash (with how rainy st louis was last year that was a huge bonus.) And I ended up with enough stuffing to fill a ton of other projects.

Stella and Rowan...

Excellent finishes to your projects.  HUZZAH!

  Thank You!
I love Stella's cloak, I would never have thought to make one out of old stuffed animals. ;D

I did this for last fall but didn't get a good picture of it.   Here is the little pink pirate. ( She out grew the baby pirate outfit.)  I think she need a belt, and a sippy/tankard hanging from it, and maybe a little pouch of her own.

The outfit is three pieces.  The lace Petticoat is made from the left overs of another petticoat that had 'died'.  Saved the lace trim, and made her one.  Then she has her coat, and an over skirt that are purely made from left overs from the Main pink pirates outfits. Also she has on skull and cross bones bloomers underneath, just in case.  ;D BTW she LOVES that hat.  And trust me it didn't take much for her to wear her 'pretty dress' all day.
It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

Oh my gosh!  The little pink pirate is adorable.  The whole ensemble is darling.

Stitch, that is soooo cute..It's so much fun to sew for the little ones!

I remember when I made my daughter her first 'Cinderella dress'  for Halloween. back in the 80's.  She didn't want to take it off  ;D, and eventually wore it out.  When the dress up bug hits, it hits hard!

I did a Merida for my grandaughter to wear this season, she is already hyped about it...history repeats itself.

The next outfit will be a new Fabric Fairly dress for this fall, and Maybe a new dress or cape.  She likes to dress up and I'm thinking she would love a cape to grown into :)

There is something about seeing the pure joy in a kiddos eyes when they get those outfits.

It makes it worth while doesn't it?   :)
The Merida gown came with a cape pattern, if it looks like she will need one, I'll  make one then.  I might tear up a stuffed animal to line the hood with (thanks Stella)
It's also gratifying when the kids' friends are pestering to wear the dress when they come over to play.   That poor Cinderella gown (made from a silvery satin jacket lining material I got for $1.25 yd and some Christmas tinsel trim) was beat to death 6 months after Halloween.  I finally had to give up on repairing it ^_^.

I've always made almost all of my ScallyWag's costumes/garb, also... and I still make as much as I can of it!  Of course, now she has started collecting Moresca and Damsel in this Dress... so I feel like I've done my job well.  LOL  She has good taste in garb, and STILL loves to play Dress-Up And Pretend, even at 13 years old... and we always have a wonderful time at Faire!  I hope we always will...

Stitch, she's absolutely adorable!  She's getting so big, now, also!  She's not a baby any longer...  :)

Edit:
Oh, yes... I almost forgot!  This is my latest project... (sorry if it's not appropriate for this forum, since it's not a sewing project... I'll remove it if anyone objects)

"Into The Sun" - Wrist cuff in hand-hammered copper wire, copper foil and glass.

I'll have a new hat to post in a week, or so...  :)

Just wanted to revisit with photos of the completed Mary of Hungary Project gown.  These were taken at Scarborough on April 12.  It was a pleasant surprise to meet some members of the forum.  So, what should I make next?

SILVERSTAH:  That is lovely.  Looks like it fits well.
