Very nice work Gem. The color combination works way better than I would have guessed.

Finished a new skirt and chemise... this bodice will be replaced by next year though, I rushed through the eyelets and paid for it with the fabric tearing around the holes. They weren't properly enforced. I'll be shortening the shoulder straps- I keep shrinking out of it.

Bonus: progress from almost exactly one year ago

A simple medieval Houppelande gown.  :-)  I dyed the damask (it was originally blue).

Now that is just lovely. Could we see a closeup of the belt?

Well done, Isabella. Lovely.

Nothing to write home about, but a simply designed First Mate's Coat for a client in Massachusetts who is part of a Pirate crew.

Made from a Cotton Denim, underlined in simple cotton for extra body and warmth on cooler days, and lined in Broadcloth. Buttons are domed Brass buttons from Jas. Townsend and Sons. Simple piping to indicate crew colors.

Great work ladies. I wish there were more medieval themed fairs for wearing a houpeland.

I agree... well, not just for the houpeland, but for all of those wonderfully comfortable fashions that require no corseting!  There are so many medieval styles that are simple, yet lovely, and I wish I could wear them all!  :)

When it's in the 90's at Bristol, with humidity nearing 100%, I wear my one piece linen Medieval dresses.  Is it H/A?  Nope.  Is it cool?  Yep.  If your faire has QE1, fairies, Robin Hood, and the like,  who cares?  Not me!  One way to enjoy the faire without spending a couple of hours at First Aid with ice packs on your neck.

Not Renaissance related in the least. I did make time out of my busy schedule to sew two costumes for my two youngest Grand daughters. I used the SIMPLICITY Frozen pattern for both. I ws able to alter the pattern somewhat to a 2. Naomie and Noelle are looking forward to Halloween, which is weeks away and approaching fast.

no doubt, Naomie will wear her Queen Elsa dress and go about the house singing word for word, "Let It Go". Noelle could care less.

Naomie's Queen Elsa. Fabric stores are nearly sold out of fabrics needed to make this dress. I was lucky to find what I did.

Noelle's Princess Anna, with some minor changes. The flowers are iron on. I did not have time to make all the flowers that is on this dress. Noelle is not quite 2. I doubt she will care for exact details. Despite a few kinks with fabrics that like not to curve, I am happy with the results. I need some Magenta felt for a short cape.

Now on to some Alterations and Custom made Drapes.

Another note, the Fantasy ensemble I did for an October wedding went off without a hitch. My lovely Bride was the Belle at her Ball last weekend. She felt like a Princess and looked it too. The wedding had a Lord of The Rings theme to it. Not shown, but the groom is wearing a Vest in a shade of Blue. He was her Bilbo Baggins.

More photos will be forthcoming.

Well, I did finally finish my garb and had the opportunity to wear it to PARF yesterday. Though it was wet and cold the cast still did an excellent job  :)
