I especially like how you got the pieces in the back to hang well together. Very nice handling of materials.

Thank you both.  I've wanted to do a ranger/woodsman/archer type set of garb for quite a while, and while I don't want to copy The Lord of the Rings, those style do dominate my concept.  I'm actually looking at making a tunic somewhere between the Boromir and Legolas designs.  The upper half of the Boromir pattern is almost perfect, I would just simplify the neckline to a single 'V'.  I want the length to be shorter, at mid-thigh, and I want the split to be on the sides rather than in the front.  I had been looking at the Legolas jerkin as a starting point, but I see I need to switch to Boromir.  I've got a long leather surcoat (see my avatar), but few are the times that it is cool enough to wear.  I'm thinking of using a brushed cotton or maybe a double layer linen for something that is more comfortable in warmer weather.  I've got my colors picked at least- forest green, grey and black.

I have a pink pirate coat to finish first, or I'll be in trouble.

Tim!! Long time, no hear my friend!!!

For the Legolas Over tunic, I used a Brushed Cotton. I wanted super suede, but could not get it in a green that I liked at the time. I was able to with the Brown however. The Back and Sides are split.

I also have the LoTR pattern. Tweaked a bit here and there, it makes for many different looks. W=Even Theodan.

Lorraine

I started this bodice yesterday for my friend's girlfriend and had it ready in time for fair this morning. The chemise pattern is the Alter Years peasant chemise pattern and I used the custom corset calculator for the bodice seeing as none of my patterns went up to this size (FF cup size, 54" waist). I think it turned out fairly well. It has 37 1/2" steel bones and three layers of duck, plus the outer brocade and velveteen bias tape. The head wreath was just some floral wire and tape, and the on sale flowers at Joanns.

That is gorgeous - I'm impressed & more than a little jealous!

Lovely job, everyone! I just ordered my fabric for the partlet I'm going to be making. I don't have a dress form, but as my bits-n-pieces are done, I'll try to post photos.

I started Chris's New Noble Garb yesterday and finished it this morning. It took 12 hours total from start to finish.

This is the finished piece with him wearing mundanes underneath. ^_^
He is going to be wearing it this weekend to Scarby.

I did see this in person. You need to see it to appreciate the well done detail work.
