Truly and I do mean this with the utmost sincerity, Janet Arnold is my Patron Goddess I adore her, but also her acolyte? (Especially for people like me who have issues with reading patterns) is Margo Anderson's patterns.  She speaks actual english, to help us create and while the patterns have been on the market for I think now 5 years? I have not seen the cookie cutter approach, like when the Shakespeare's in Love Gown from Simplicity, you could look at that and say YEP, you used that pattern.  It is like having a good friend with you every step of the way.  I tell people who are looking to make Elizabethans to go in with a friend and then work together! So much fun and you both can really get the look you want!!!

I wish I had had Margo's patterns back in the day, when I was using Wedding gown patterns from the big 3 and attempting to make my dreams from that! Oy Vey!

I have used Margo's patterns as a jump off to make my own designs better, and her suggestions have come in handy.

So yes do get Janet's books because they are so worth it!  Pick up Tudor Tailor as well it has gems in there that will make you drool and say OH really??!!

And look at Margo's Patterns because these are the books I suggest to anyone!
