Yay!  Just checked the Texas Forest Service website and there are no burn bans in Grimes Co. at least as of today.  I assume it's been raining enought for it to stay that way for a while.  I couldn't imagine not having a campfire at our camp.

OH MY GOODNESS
I didn't even think about that. I can't imagine faire without a campfire... O_O

It's really good news to hear that. :)

We tried the no camp fire one year..didn't turn out too well. Besides being rencicles by morning, a friend of ours was...hurt. True story. We had a Coleman lantern and he had downed an entire bottle of Peppermint Schnapps by this point. . He starts to fall off his perch and being the kind hearted red headed fellow that he is he shouts "OH NO. THE LANTERN IS FALLING", jumping into action to stop its toppling over when in fact it was he that was toppling. And save it he did!....with his hand...on the hot, hot glass globe. His handprint is still seared onto the globe to this day....plus he has no fingerprints on that hand.

Thanks Mouse!  I needed to laugh this morning....not that it was a laughing matter at the time I'm sure!

I said such a comment to see if I could irk you actually. I knew you were a redhead...I wasn't aware about the rest of the...drapery. Unfortunatley, we found out the same was true for my friend that night as well...Not even a 3rd degree burn can keep that man down....maybe his pants, but not his spirits!

Camp fires are an amazing way to make new friends at faire. :)
One of the best things about camping out there, imo, is walking around and sitting beside a campfire, talking to that camp, and making new friends~~

It just wouldn't be the same if there were to be a burn ban. :( haha

cold night + campfire = good
cold night + campfire + warm lap and cloak + lovely-yet-cold ladies = best ;D

Another downpour today should almost ensure that the burn ban remains off.
