I am creating a fairy-esque costume for a halloween party this year.  It is actually a Magic draft party so sitting will be involved.  I will be foregoing the wings for the party.  This is not to say that this fairy won't get wings for faire next season.  Mostly it's going to be a brown suede looking bodice with a green skirt. I have plans for a staff as well.  I would like to do a headdress of some sort, but need suggestions for that.  I also need a name!

I have no idea on which thread it was, but somewhere on the forum, I saw the most adorable headpiece on a fairy.  It was a basket in the shape of a cornucopia.  The open part sat on her head, so the tail stuck up and forward.  She had wound autumn colored flowers (red, yellow, orange) and some vines/branches around it, too.

If you wanted to change the colors, you could use different flowers and maybe vines with green leaves or dried berries on it, but she really looked cute in it.  You could probably buy the basket in Hobby Lobby or Michaels, possibly even Walmart, as it ties in nicely with the autumn harvest time of year.

Maybe someone else might remember where they saw the picture and post it here.

Or you could do something like this:

What I did for mine: http://www.flickr.com/photos/morningstar1369/2854358737/ was pick up a strand of ivy vine and some silk flowers and some silver bell strands (around christmas time!) from wal-mart and Michael's and wove them all together. I get a lot of compliments and nobody has a head garland quite like mine. I even have a little clip-on peacock living in it that I got from Michaels too. ;)

This head dress is on page 5 of the thread Fae Photos.  It has been decorated so nicely, it is more than just a cornucopia.  I think it's marvelous!
