The Theater of the English Renaissance

Greetings and well met!

I am writing a research paper for my English class, and of the topics to choose from given us by my professor, I have chosen The Theater of the English Renaissance. I know it's a pretty broad topic, and I'm working on narrowing to specifics ~ physical theater construction; laws governing theater and actors; costuming, etc.

Does anyone know of books and/or websites on the topic? I'm Google-proficient and well-acquainted with our college's library, but I also know that this forum's members have a wealth of information on a variety of topics. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Interestingly, English 'renaissance' theatre took place in Elizabethan times, and in the times of James I. I think it really took off during the Restoration era of Charles II. He was very fond of the theatre. And what it had to offer.
