POTC 4 plot announced?

I'm still waiting for my friend inside the Mouse House to comment on this.  Last word was that NO work has been done on this yet, but things change.

Looks like the story has legs.  The release is set for Summer, 2011.  No word on the plot as of yet, but the name is going to be "On Stranger Tides".  Johnny Depp was at the Disney presentation, in Jack Sparrow costume and character, asking if anyone had seen a talking frog.  One would expect nothing less.  

I sincerely hope they stay away from the Steampunk stuff.  The fish people were silly enough.  

Let the speculation begin.

I don't know... better a Captain Nemo-like character than a talking frog. I could see maybe introducing the person who created Jack's magic compass, or the spinning map from POTC3...

Rush On Fourth "Pirates" Status

Geoffrey Rush tells MTV News that he's ready to get back to work as Captain Barbosa in "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides", the fourth adventure in the series which kicks off shooting in Spring.


"They're waiting for the screenplay writers to put together something that's beyond the trilogy, take it off into a new direction so that it's fresh and hopefully really interesting for an audience, that they're not going to just sausage-machine out something else, which wouldn't be so good" says Rush who jokingly admits neither the studio or prodder Jerry Bruckheimer haven't been in touch with him about it.

The recent departure of Disney exec richard Cook has left many questioning about the future of the project, but for now everything seems to be full steam ahead.
