I was doing some internet clicking & surfing at lunch today and came across this site:
http://www.designsbyfantasia.com/fantasia.html

Has anyone ordered from this person?  The bodices look very nice.

RE Fantasia: Yes, I have the Courtesan bodice by them.  The piece is wonderful, but it took a year to get it and lots of email prodding.  They are at the Maryland Renn Fest.  I ordered it in person, so I don't know about ordering from the website.  Good Luck.

I am considering one of this lady's ensembles.

She also sells on eBay.

Has anyone ordered from her?
Her work looks really good!

Has anyone bought/worn the Lock Lace Bodice from Tudor Shoppe/Sofi's Stitches?  What's the general opinion?  What about the Twill Bodice of the same maker?

Thanks so much!!

Another vendor to add to the list is is Storied Threads.  Veronica Bailey, the owner, has been the staff costumer for Pastimes Entertainment and the Connecticut Renaissance Faire.  I think she mainly does custom costumes.

I have bought Sofi's Stiches from the Tudor Shoppe and the store website, same pricing.
I have two of the lock lace bodices, one in blue and the other in burgundy. I just love them.
My 2 cents: I am not a large lady, but I am not (nor will ever be) anywhere near the size 2 models in the ads. Make sure you order a size that will comfortably fit. The grommets on the Lock Lace are good but not really heavy duty enough for major 'squishing', however, all grommet areas are boned, and the close spacing of the grommets help much with keeping your torso looking smooth with a snug fit. The styling is flattering to the waist and bust. even in the bigger sizes.  It's by far my favorite bodice from her site.  Supposed to be reversable to black, but doesn't look very good that way.
I also have one of the Twill bodices.  The only boning on this is the two pieces along the grommets in front.  It's not meant for squishing at all, but is a good, basic, well made bodice for day to day faire wear. I've had mine for 6 years, and it shows little wear. and it looks just as good reversed to black.
I have an entire collection of her peasant skirts.  They lace at the waist, and are the heaviest cotton skirts I have. Wonderfully well made.  Most of my 'anchor' pieces are from Sofi's or Likely Lotus.
 Hope this helps^_^.

(or on eBay: http://stores.ebay.com/Dragonpipes-Den)

I am a big fan of her necklaces and earrings. I have two sets, one sapphire and one topaz, that I've worn as a noble on PaRF's cast and love them (and have gotten tons of complements). I'm actually looking at   buying a new set for my latest costume. Be sure to follow the cleaning instructions though - I washed one in too harsh of a cleaner and a stone fell off and a couple got hazy. It was my older set and mostly my fault, to be fair to her craftsmanship.

I received my ensemble from Faire Finery this morning (just in time for faire this weekend! YAY!!), and even though I am new to faires and garbing, I have to say that her work is top notch!  I bought the hunter green ensemble and it is gorgeous!  Fits like a glove... er, uh... bodice. LOL  All kidding aside, Nicki does fantastic work.  I will post pics as soon as I can!

Nighthawk

I have gotten 2 shirts and one doublet from Nora at http://www.delilahskeepe.com She's excellent about working with you to get you exactly what you want- she let me send her my own design and made it for me from the material that I specified, at no more cost than one of her standard doublets. She used antler buttons that I had made and sent to her. And she did it all in a very timely fashion! She has totally earned a customer for life from me.

I have purchased from Majestic Velvets- no complaints.  2X

cannot wash skirt, lite velvet (with brocade), dry cleans well.

I'm in love with the Cloak Company by Von Lancelot, I have two corset,s a skirt and two capes from him, they are very nice quality and being on ebay they were a steal. I will warn though the boning in his corsets are plastic so they do not pull you in as tight.

I'm going to have to disagree with the wonderfulness of this one. His corsets, as she mentioned are plastic. They did not even last a day (and I barely laced the thing). The fabric is cheap and the design construction is horrid.

I wont' get into the copying. But I bought before Ij udged and my judgement is that I'd slap hands before I let them buy from this guy.

My items took me five weeks to get (and tons of emails prodding and asking and nothing in response) and one of the colors wasn't right from the picture. HORRID.

Just Buyer Beware with anyone, you know? But this is the first experience online that I've had with my Ren gear that went south. Thankfully, my credit card company has a "not satisfied" clause and I could use that.

But as with anything maybe this will be ok for you! I'm glad someone had a good experience with them. Maybe they should have stuck with cloaks though, lol.

Has anyone had any experience with www.mistythicket.com ?
Some nice looking items and has a fantastic eBay rating, but hoping to hear from someone else before dropping a few hundred ducats there.

edit: I purchased a shirt, doublet, and pants from them. I had to email and call repeatedly to confirm the order - it took about a week just to get a hold of them and they acted nonchalant about ignoring my emails and phone messages when I finally did get through. When it arrived, the doublet was much shorter than shown in the pictures (the back and sides leave a gap of about 4 inches from the doublet to the pants). I emailed several times to try to get it adjusted but they never responded to my emails. I'm unhappy with the product and very unhappy with their service. BUYER BEWARE!
