Highway 169 the long curving bridge south of Bloomington sometimes called the Bloomington Ferry Bridge is being repaired and is down to one lane both ways.

My husband the courier recommends taking 212 to 41 in Chaska to 169 and coming in that way.

That's the route I usually recommend. Although it will probably have heavier traffic due to this bridge work so leave early.

35W to 13, it's how I used to get between home (Brooklyn Park) and college (Mankato) before 169 was re-routed to its current location.

With road construction and less/worse parking spaces on grounds, I foresee attendance way down this year...

Hi All!
Just a paying patron here, although I've been coming out for decades to take pics, my current day job as a courier has me hitting the area a lot. I would say that the traffic around the bridge won't be as bad as some may think. I know you see the weekday road reports, but most of the traffic backups occur during weekday rush hour. I have been through there(heading west on 13 from 35W), as late as 9am and had no slowdown at all. I would imaging that weekend traffic won't be as concentrated(timewise) as weekdays. Also, keep in mind that by the time fest opens, they will have switched the lane closures(currently southbound is closed) and suppossedly, by the end of the month, everything will be back to normal.
One bit of additional news is that they are doing a MAJOR redesign of hwy 13 just west of 35W at co.rd. 5(the 1st intersection west of 35) so traffic may be slowed in that area.
See you all opening day!
