I'll be there Saturday with my consort, possibly returning on Sunday.
I will be there every day. ;) I'll be the noble dressed in black and silver, normally processing with the court. If you arrive in time for opening gate, please keep your eyes out for me. I'll be wandering about and greeting our visitors. You can gain my attention through one of the following greetings:
Lord Admiral!
Edmund Vainglory III!
EV III!
Baldy!
The hubby, renfant, and I plan to be there Saturday! Looking forward to meeting you all!!
My husband and I are in matching colors...see my profile pic. And the renfant will be in a pirate ship onesie!
Sarah and I will be there on Sunday only .. Dashing madly to see it all in one day. Sarah is in white Elizabethan court with Purple hat and capelette and I will be in whatever fits this year! Hopefully new burnt orange with rust tall hat. Don't let us miss anything good!
satrday......................
The Lady of Needles and I will be there opening day and at least once a weekend the rest of the time
THE BLAKDUKE AND HIS LADY WIFE
BamaWoodsman...saw the comment about limiting your fiance's time with the renfant! Sooo funny!! I can't promise anything! :)
This wedding planning is complicated enough, ;D I can't afford for her to get baby-fever as well. lol
bama i got the simple solution just get married at Garf
and to fix baby fever get a puppy you got to take outside every couple of hours
the sleep deprivation should take care of that
Warrior Monk, Lady LeFay and friend will be there both days.................because Deus vult! :P
We'll be there in full dress this weekend... I've got a new tudor style dress in beige, cream and blue for Sat- my Lord will be dressed in his usual black doublet - due to him not keeping up with the laundry... we'll be there before cannon (at least the imaginary one)
Trying to get my shift covered so i can come for Sunday, maybe half of Sat.
this is not my first fair, but im bringing newbies, whats everyones opinion as this being their first fair experience....
Its by far my favorite of the 3 I've attended. Last year was my first year at GaRF but it is a considerably different experience from TnRF and Alabama. For shopping it is absolutely wonderful, and the food is pretty good too. I went 5 out of the 8 weeks last year and not once made it to the pub sing because I always seemed to get caught up with one vendor or the other late in the evening after the crowds started parting.
Your newbies will be in for a treat and it should get them hooked if they have any interest in the renaissance or fantasy worlds.
Pub Sing is a must for newbies! As BamaWoodsman mentioned...you can spend all day shopping if you wish. I love the Nickel Shakespeare Girls (they perform in the lanes and do one show on stage), Three Quarter Ale at the Brewer's Pub...I never miss them! According to the entertainment schedule on the website, TQA will be complete for only one show at noon then Wicked Pete must dash for the day b/c Half Pint (Rosemary and Ariana) have the rest of the shows. I'm actually looking forward to the new show that the knights of the joust are doing. "A Knight at the Opera."
i know i can't wait either i think it's gonna awesome
Lady Christina,
I got the news last night, that our 7th person couldn't get Saturday off work so he's only going to be here on Sunday. I hope this doesn't mess up your ticket plans to much. :(

What's not to like about this faire? It has: King, Queen, Royal Court, Jousting, Knights, Warrior Monks, Food, Fairies, Shows, Swords, axes, shields, armor, Trolls, elves, mead, beer (
monk's brew), maidens, pilgrims, longer than a weekend season (
no offense intended to certain Royalty ;)),....
pirates
don't worry bama i'll figure something out
I'll be there Saturday.
Lady Christina,
New development just in, One of our people had to cancel so once again we will have an odd number on Saturday. My only trick is going to be getting everyone out of the house in time to make it for opening cannon. They have failed the last 3yrs at every festival we've been to as a full group. I've decided to take the roll dress Nazi for Sat. morning to get them going. I figure if I tell them we're leaving by 9 we should leave by 9:15 and its a 45 min drive from the house.
I assume we'll all just meet up front.
god my girlfriend got scheduled to work all weekend so i have to rush there from birmingham, then leave at around 2 i think....im dissapointed
I know how that goes. We got lucky and my fiance is off work all weekend which doesn't happen to often. Is she coming with you Sat morning?
thats what were talking about if she dont go....i dont get to, im not driving there alone... all my fair frends from last year kinda drifted out of the habbit....

us and warrior monk and femme last year
We'll still be there...but possibly not in garb. I'm starting to stress about all the stuff that goes along with the renfant, so we'll see! I'm so excited and see those of you who will be there tomorrow!!
I have a fiance here that says you better be there with that renfant she'll even help you if theres something you wanna see, lol. Remember what I said though, lol.
alright sorry yall due to unforeseen events and friends cancelling i had to miss Garf today i do intend to go but i don't know for sure which weekend yet
Tis ok but we did miss you. Hopefully we'll see you later in the season.
Twas truly a remarkable opening weekend for myself and attending friends. We got to meet several new friends, the most I've done since I've started this hobby. (Warrior Monks don't usually act as your typical social magnets..not like fairies, pirates, musketeers, and Tudor/Elizabethan era folks :P but my armored Brothers and I are making a go at changing our image....Deus vult! ;D)
Bamawoodsman and his AU-UA companion (I apologize for not getting to see you again on Sunday), Femme Falchion (Many thanks for the mystic rune, perhaps you'll provide me the written description of what you tried to tell me there about it :)) and Lord Scott, Susannah's husband, since Susannah and renfant moved off from the coins shop late Saturday as I tried to gain her attention, The Ladies Amy & Sarah (pleasant surprise-readers of the Following Orders thread and many thanks for the favor-I'm honored), the BLAKDUKE and his lovely Lady (wonderful dinner we had Saturday night M'Lord!), and Avidd at opening on Sunday morning.
It really was too bad we had to leave early to clear a hotel room and have our guest back to the Atlanta airport to journey back to California. :'(
It was nice to meet everyone this weekend. We were late arriving today and once again missed out on catching everyone at the gate. My fiancé and I wandered around most of the day and somehow didn't see anyone else until we found Amy and Sarah at Ded Bob/ Tartanic.
It was a great opening weekend and I had a blast meeting everyone at GARF. I am already planning on when to go back ;D! I also ended getting a new pair of sandlars which are awesome! (Thanks to my awesome finace) Hope everyone had a good time and hope see everyone soon. I would have to say the highlight of this weekend was when I got to spend quality time with the renfant! Thanks Susannah and Bart! :) Now I ready for TenRen!
It was great to meet y'all!! WarriorMonk...I'm soooo sorry I missed you. My husband said y'all were calling for me. I was preoccupied trying to find the stage on the map for Tartanic...which I missed every show on Saturday (we were always on the opposite side of the faire when they were playing). It's hard to rush somewhere with the renfant strapped to you! I hope to catch you next time, Warrior Monk!
Jennifer and Adam, so nice to catch up with you a few times and I look forward to seeing y'all again. We MUST take a group shot next time. My mommy brain failed me in remembering to take pics...must be better about that too! Great weather, great weekend, great new friends! Huzzah!! I'll keep you posted on when we'll be attending again!
Oh...and fairieimp!! So great to meet you! My hubby and I will be back to get those boots for him! Thanks for your help...hope you had a great opening weekend!
What a fantastoc introduction to the GARF! We have never felt so warmly welcomed and met so many lovely folk and friends. We were so happy to share greetings with BamaWoodsman, Princess BG, Fairieimp, Aavid, Warrior Monk, as well as many members of the cast and company. A highlight had to be walking through the gates and being greeted by the King's Royal Guard to invited us to Join Queen Anne on the dias as her guests during the Queen's joust. Awarding the gold medals to the victors was very exciting. What great spots in the shade we had! Sarah was beaming! Tartanic kept us dancing and we laughed and ate and drank until we could no more. Thank you all for such a wonderful day! Pics will be coming hopefully tonight.
Thank you everyone who stopped by and said hi! We had the best opening weekend we ever had at GARF. It was a blast!

:D
It was a pleasure meeting you and your family!
My opening weekend *at the faire* was fantastic!
Thanks to EVERYONE who stopped by to say hello to me! :) <3
I can't believe I was remiss in mentioning that I did meet with the King, Henry VIII and his court to include his wife Anne. I chose the most opportune time (immediately following a visit with the Court by Lady Amy and her daughter....aka- Elizabethan Shock & Awe :P) to press the case of a reinstatement of the Order of the Temple in England with all previous privileges and rights. This effort went well as he and the court members were still enchanted by the previous visitors and hadn't yet noticed the unshaven and dusty Brother of the Temple before them, just recently returned from the Outremer.
As a token of our new found desire for friendship and support, the Order bestowed upon his royal Majesty, a simple coin with the engravings of the Templar Cross on one side, and the image of the Archangel Gabriel on its reverse to look over the court, and ensure a safe and lasting friendship.
Deus vult!
