Post by: laedyfaire on July 03, 2008, 08:39:08 AM
30 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!

greetings....which is your fave spot to buy an ale..or mead..or wine..whatever your pleasure.

Blue Boar Inn is our favorite to sit and drink. music, shade, atmosphere. After that is the Joust pub b/c the lines are usually short. LF

hi..yes it is...it is a really great place to hang out..esp if you need a respite from the heat and crowds. mostly rennies hang there and there is music going on in the afternoon. it is only a couple of years old. the first year we went up on the rocks in the woods but last year they roped it off..but I can understand why..there was a pretty high cliff there and someone could accidently fall off.

ah, heh.

actually, here's a question for you: how willing are the bartenders/pub wenches to fill up your own mug? i'd assume they'd be okay with it, but.. just checking.

hmmm..good question. I really don't buy the beer, but m'lord does and his tankard is pretty big..24 oz. so we don't ask..we just pour the beer into it..if you have a normal sized mug, I don't think it would be a problem.

was last year your first time?

i don't drink beer (heh) but i was thinking maybe a mug of mead. ulfric is making me one; it's gonna be 22 oz or so.

last year was my first time in garb, yeah. we went the year before in regular clothes.

wow...22 oz! being that they serve the mead in little teeney tiny cups for 5 bucks, they will prob. fill 'er up, but for a price.

Honestly, I bring my own.. I will buy here and there to support the faire, but I do bring my own in order to save money.

I love mead! and wine...not too big on the beer either.. :) LF

*sighs*

Only one more year. Then I can drink. One more year.

*sighs again*

But, once I can, I am so buying mead. I have wanted to try that like crazy!

WHat is that one table up on the right hand side, separated from the others, atop the hilly incline, when you walk up the path to the Blue Boar?  Is that some kind of reserved table? It looks like a big group gathers there now and then?

It the Blue Boar and it's never a reserved table. Just a bunch of us rennies who hang out up there surveying the crowd. Do join in if you desire!

Excellent! I need to get a tankard Saturday. I may breakdown and buy one of those leather ones. I bought a ceramic cup at one point but its just too difficult to carry around.
