Friday 6Pm Meet and Greet at the Gallway Hooker
Saturday am will be tailgaiting and photo op before Faire in the VIP parking lot 8:30am! Gates open at 10am.
Another photo op and musical men 3pm 2:30 PM to the left of the joust area, behind wax hands.
Saturday night dinner will be at the Acropolis also in Cornelius about 6pm, after Faire!
Sunday 3pm 2:30 PM photo op and treasure hunt finds.
As for hotel accomodations... the Microtel in Cornelius may be able to accomodate a room block for us however they will not know till early September. Therefore at this time I recommend hotels in Davidson, Cornelius & Huntersville to be the closest in locale. Charlotte will be a bit of a haul.
I am going to be there!!
You got me, but I'll bet I forget to mention that my wife, the Lady Julie (who only sometimes lurks on R/F.com) will also be coming. Thanks for doing this!
Sketchn will be there also.
Thanks Mehan! Look forward to seeing you SOON! ;D
Molden has 444 posts! :)
We are looking forward to meeting new people, most of which I've conversed with here on the board. We may have some extended family joining us, but they don't need listing here. Pinn, you have some hugs coming... Iain, I think we have a discussion on theology to continue! But anyway, we're planning on a good time!
Merlin I am actually coming to the friday night meet-n-greet (something I normally NEVER do) just to meet you and Nim, get Iain Robb's inside dope on fresh oranges and converse with others from afar.
If you don't mind, I would love to put the extended family members on the list, so I can start trying to memorize names (and so we have kinda a head count).
I doubt they will be at the meet and greet, Mehan, and at this point, I'm not sure who will be coming. I have a couple of cousins in Charlotte, and I believe one will be joining us on Saturday perhaps. Nim's sister and hubby may also come up from Charleston, but that's still iffy.
I think I should be honoured that you find it necessary to come to the meet-and-greet just to meet us! We're just your average knuckleheads... You can't imagine how excited we are about this trip!!
@ Merlin T.E. ;D.. I am more than willing to collect.
Working on my favours to hand out also.

... get Iain Robb's inside dope on fresh oranges ...
Oh, my, my reputation precedes me ...
Let's see, late October ... Hamlins should be coming ripe. Great juicing oranges. Guess I'll have to see if we can squish some and bring their liquified innards up for the Saturday tailgate. Am I just assuming there will be a tailgate, or did I read that somewhere?
Definitely a tailgate Saturday morning and pretty sure one Sunday, I'll defer to Lady Mikayla the planning princess. I wasn't hinting on your bringing any (hey but it worked ;D), just wanted to pick what seemed to be your knowledgeable brain.
"Seemed" is the operative word here, I believe. ::)

Yep there'll be a tailgate to be sure. Did you say...you're bringing...orange juice (((Hopefull)))???
IF our Hamlins are ripe by then, yep. If not, no.
I'm sure we can organize Friday night...You just name the time and row for Saturday and Sunday!
Hi, I'll be attending.
Friday night we will meet & greet at the Galway Hooker @ 6pm. Actually just got back from dinner there and firmed us up!
Saturday & Sunday morning we will tailgate. Oh lord what time did I say...? :) Just checked myself, 8:30am in the VIP parking lot. It's not to big up there... you'll see us!
We have the grove area by the joust Sat & Sun from 2:30pm - 4pm so I need to correct our times for pictures and such up to 2:30pm!
For those traveling from out of town, not to worry, we'll start Friday evening at 6, I'm sure we'll be there for awhile come join us.
On Saturday and Sunday morning, if you somehow miss the large gathering of people in garb, we are usually in the first row of the VIP parking lot (by virtue of the fact we are crazy enough to get there at 0830am) and we come equiped with a 15 foot flag pole and Irish flag. As Lady Mikayla said, you'll see us!
A separate group ticket thread has been posted in this section.
Anyone else traveling in, we'll be staying at the Charlotte/Cornelius I-77N Hampton Inn. It shows to be about 15 minutes from faire, and about 10 minutes from Galway Hooker.
We will be bringing a guest, Prince Herbert of mitensted.
The weather has started to make its change from constant hot to those nicer fall temps. Ready for faire and RenDezvous, the gates of Fairhaven will be open before you know it. Looking forward to seeing everyone in October.
Remember if there are any questions about CRF, the area, hotels, where to eat, etc please ask.
Thanks for the updated schedule of events! MNRF keeps us busy and out of the loop a bit! But done now and trying to get through having a short term exchange student and cabin closing travel!
Gosh... favors... dang - better get thinking on that now!
See you all soon!
Alas, despite our best efforts the Duchess and I will be unable to attend Rendezvous this year. We are sooooo bummed! :'(
That is indeed disappointing, m'Lord...

Sad day. :'(
Uh-uh. None of that. Not now. Not this late in the game. The weekend is almost here. You need to gear up. By my count, there are about half as many of us this year than last year. And I know there are people we really would have liked to have made it. But here's the thing ...
... And don't tell anyone, or they'll all want in ...
That means we each get twice as much fun!
(And since I had to miss last year's RenDezvous, I'm planning on thrice!)
LOVE yer plannin' Iain!!! 8)
If closing cannon (and what I imagine to be the ensuing parking lot chaos) is at 5, that doesn't leave much time to hit the hotels to clean up before dinner at 6 on Saturday. Do we go straight there from faire?
I'm not sure what the plan was, but that's what I was expecting. Sure hope that Greek place has aisles wide enough for my wife's hoop skirt! ;D
(This faire is going to be her first experience with a hoop skirt. Should be interesting. I was in a play recently and no one figured out until dress rehearsal that the ladies in hoop skirts were not making it down the stairs without assistance.)
We had a discussion last weekend about this - and will likely push back to 6:30 or so. Mynd you, I have my grubby little paws in this - so that whole "on-the-dot-planning/timing/scheduling" falls in the "-ish" category. ;) Traffic is a bit heavy getting out - so if you wanted to head out a little before 5/cannon - not a bad move. If you stay and enjoy, linger - please by all means - the Watchword for the event is ENJOY! ;D
At the very least, Lady Mikayla and I will be at Acropolis to "hold" the space reserved - come in as you please or can. There is no way in Odin's Earth we expect "proper" behavior of showing up prompt for dinner and waiting on all to be there before starting. Besides - it IS a Greek restaurant - You'll be welcomed loudly and warmly, taken care of loudly and warmly - like long, lost, extended Family. (It's why we picked this place.)
So, we have it covered - make it when you can. The food is hearty and awesome! A mix of Greek and American. You'll be welcomed - did I say Loudly and Warmly? Wanted to make sure y'all got that part. ...because I'm SO Shy and Retirin' don't ya know! ;)
Besides, if you come in garb from Faire, they'll KNOW which group you're with! And Iain - if the aisles aren't wide enough fer yer Lovely Lady's hoops...they WILL be! It's Greek! OPA! ;D
I know this is incredibly last minute but Al-Nimer & I will not be attending. School & other commitments make it impossible. Have fun without us.

Bummer! Nimue and I were looking forward to seeing you guys...I guess we'll see you at Scarby in April...or Sherwood Forest in February. So sorry!
