Title: Harp and Fiddle
Post by: Terry Griffith on April 24, 2009, 09:47:09 AM
For all those who need advance warning, May 14th is my next night at the Harp.  It's the last trivia night of the season so you know the routine.  Come early to play trivia or at 9:00 to miss the non-rennie crowd.

Our nights together at the Harp have sustained us through the dreary winter.  Let's keep it going.

I just got confirmation from the Harp.  My night this month will be June 27th.  I know some of you are going to the Celtic Fling at PARF so I hope the rest of you can make it.

My next night at the Hothouse Tap and Grill is the 26th so we'll make a weekend of it.

See you all soon.

'twill be good to see you both, me Lady.

I'm hoping many more come on the 27th.  The crowds at the Harp have been lean on their past weekends and they asked me to try to bring a crowd.  The rennies always come through for me but I fear this weekend may be light as there are other events to draw them away.

Anyone still in town, please stop in for a while.  Faire will be here before you know it and the Harp will have to wait until it's over.

Thanks, M.  I saw you today at the zoo as you were leaving but I couldn't leave the car because I was parked at the curb waiting for Her Majesty.  See you on Saturday.

Sorry I missed you at the zoo, but Her Majesty must be served.

I just got a call for a private party on Saturday.  That won't stop me from getting to the Harp, but I'll arrive a bit later and a tad overdressed.

Of course it's better for the H&F if there's a packed house, but I love the occasional time when there are fewer of us and we can chat a bit more.  It was a wonderful evening.

Fear not, sweet Jaya, my August date will be the 21st.  Twill be our kick off for faire the following week.

For those in the South of da 'burgh, I'll be at the Hothouse on the 24th of July.  Let's show 'em how to party.

Perfect!  Nick will be returning to University on Sunday the 23rd.  He's thrilled that he can say goodbye to Da Burgh with a night at the Harp & Fiddle.  We will be there having our own bittersweet celebration.

Terry,
What time are you playing at the Hothouse? I'd really like to make it if possible!
~Sarah

P.S. Is it in Monongahela?

Unfortunately, the Hothouse Tap and Grille has cancelled me for the 24th.  The last two times I was there, the crowd was very sparse.  It's a shame because I think this time there would have been more people.
Hope you can make it to the Harp on August 21st.
Miss you.

I've never been able to go to the Harp and Fiddle but a friend of mine from out of state is coming that Friday so I'm trying to see if we can make it. :)

I know this seems like a cop out answer but there are so many and such a wide price range the best thing to do is to Google "Pittsburgh Hotels".  Down town is pricey but close and there are many motels within a 5 to 10 mile radius.  Any I can suggest are as good as any others and I know of none you need to stay away from.  Come to think of it though, any that are listed as being East of downtown may be a problem with Parkway East traffic problems.

See you there.

Remember the great evening we had in July out on the back deck?  We'll be doing it again on Wednesday, August 25th.  Everybody will be in town for the faire so it should be a fantastic evening and a chance to show our out of town guests how we party together away from faire.  The party starts at 7 on the back deck, weather permitting or inside if it rains.  Remember, the back deck is dog friendly so bring your dogs and they will have water bowls and free dogie biscuits on hand (or paw).

Greetings to our local Faire family and new family members visiting from afar.  As we have realized over the years, our faire friends enjoy meeting outside of Morlandshire as well.  Our usual meeting place has become Mullaney's Harp and Fiddle in Pittsburgh.  I will be playing on the back deck, weather permitting, from 7:00 to 10:00 on Wednesday, August 25th.

It should be a great night of comradeship and fun.  If you have a dog friend who would like to join you for a night out, please bring them.  The Harp is dog friendly with water bowls and dog treats.  Please keep an eye on the weather reports because if rain is predicted, we will have to move indoors where they are, sadly, not permitted.

For those who have never been there and need an address for GPS, it is 2329 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15222.  If you need directions, please call me at 412/980-2549.

Please come out for an unusual evening with friends.  See you there.

I'm sorry we could not make it.  I got out of work at 9:00pm and until Heather and I met up and got to Pittsburgh it would have been at least 10:00pm.  Hope everyone had a great time.  Miss you all.

Scott, you and Heather were missed as were a few other regulars.  The deck was full to capacity all evening and everyone enjoyed the evening together.  Don't know if there will be another night on the deck this year but I will keep everyone posted.

Thanks to those that made the evening memorable.

Due to a last minute change in schedule, I'll be playing the Harp on Saturday, September 4th. I start at 9:00 so stop in after faire and make a day of it.  If you don't feel like changing, I'm sure you won't be the only one in garb.

I'm also on the schedule for the second Thursday of every month so I'll be back on the 9th.  Let's show our friends from out of town how we party all year round.  Either the 4th or the 9th or both, I'll see you soon.
