... i might as well. My good friend, Bonnie Pearl, suggested that i take up my countdown hat, again, for Rendezvous (THANKS Bonnie! >:( lol) and it looks like yours truly, Fraser, is going to step up to the plate.
51 DAYS TILL RENDEZVOUS!!!
Wow, it worked! :D ;D
'Bout time... :P :D
You're very welcome Fraser! ;D
Huzzah! Ye countdown 'tis on!!! ;D
Everyone get your livers ready! It's ON!
Since I will have the renlet with me, my liver will probably be mostly safe, as we will need to drive to and from Faire, and to attend the many extra-curricular activities, as well. Still... a bit of cider now and again couldn't hurt... much. Right? ;D
i think my cocktail of choice will be... hmmmmm... Rusty Nails! AYE!! Put hair on a cue ball and fur on your tongue! ;D
Ummm... is fur on your tongue really to be desired, then? Or hairy cue balls, for that matter?!?
Jus' sayin'... :P
There's only 3 kinds of people that would drink a Rusty Nail... a Scotsman... a drunken Irishman... and well, ME! Hold on... I fall into the first catagory. Hmmm, i'll have to think about the third. ???
*Englishmen have too weak a liver for it*
I'm currently doing "research".
Hmmmm... MACALLAN 12, HIGHLAND PARK 12, Bunnahabhain or Glenmorangie Lasanat ?
Hmmmm.... tough decision. I better have another round.
And don't forget to go to the Pepper Lady's booth to get some tasty samples to go with your beverages of choice! For the brave among you, there are several 'recipes' that the regular faire-goers and performing company members have come up with. Some of them will set you on fire!

Have you tried anything from the Aberlour distilleries? Nice, smooth peaty flavor... typical Spreyside fare.

Lol... I seem to have gotten enough garb, recently, that i could probably come up with half a dozen looks... A new one for Scarby and another new set for TRF...
*Thank the Gods for overtime*
What a coincidence ... I'm waiting on a new kilt for RenDezvous too.
Hope we're not both waiting for the same one.
THAT would be.... awkward. We don't go for those kind of shenanigans here in Texas... :D
Oh, no... can't be seen wearing the same kilt! (particularly if there's only enough of it to cover one of you...) :P heheh

I've got 45 days, a Castleteer event, and a visit to Sherwood and then I can get more amped about this. ;D
Well, after my road trip over spring break and then working our local Faire the next week, then I can start getting all giddy over RenDezvous!!! Ok, I'm a little giddy already, but I'm trying to hold it together over here... :P heheh

No Disney World for me! Too busy with BARF fun stuff but had to peek in on the threads before bed for another day of craziness at faire tomorrow. Getting people super amped up for Rendezvous at BARF, and trust me, you have NO idea how freakin' excited about it.
That was a figurative Disney World, Elo. All of Florida is Disney World to me because that's where I always end up when I go there. :)
40!!! WOOT!
How was BARF, Elo? It's on my list of "to do" faires...
You'll enjoy BARF, Fraser. It's a fine faire with friendly people and enough pubs to satisfy Scotsman and pirate alike. There's usually some fun stuff to do after faire also. Looks like we won't be able to make it this year but are definitely putting it on the list for a return next season.
I'd love to go to BARF someday. All I need is a driver. Sigh. Having WAY too much fun at Sherwood Forest faire! On to Scarby. Sticking out my thumb and singing the" Are you going to Scarborough faire "song- but I will be there for Renndevous!
39! Yeah, like sand through and hourglass, so are the days... errr... time is getting short. :D
I knew it... you're a closet "drama queen"! :P heheh
it's all about character(which some say i'm sorely lacking), darlin'.
*moral character that is* ;D
Nae! I think you ARE a character! You have plenty of character Fraser! LOL!
Moral I don't know about.
But if you make rusty nails you are OK with me!
Thank you, your Majesty. *sweeping bow* ;)
A double for the Queen!
I have a wide streak of Simon "The Fox" Fraser in me... ;D
BARF was incredible, a beautiful little faire, and even more incredible people. I would recommend it to anyone.
Now, to gear up for Rendezvous. I'm hitting the ground running, its gonna be a mad dash to the end! ;)
Ach, lass! Donna be wearing yerself oot now... we're wantin ye hale & whole for this!
*get sick the day before would suck* :(
When it rains....it pours.
I have 3 jobs rearing their ugly head around the start of April... I WILL NOT miss Rendezvous.... I don't care about anything else that weekend.
HEAR YE HEAR YE ! !
I am BOOKED for the weekend of April 24 and 25.... I will NOT be working this weekend.
That is all..... as you were.
38! 38!
Wooohooo,.... can't wait !
Me either. Is it time yet ???
(Psssst ... Fraser ... it's 37 ...)
yeah, yeah... i had to chase a group of pipe gnomes right off the bat, this morning. *Damn gnomes*
37!! WOOT!
Since work is over for the day, can't we use Rennie Math and declare it 36? ??? :D :D
Well, by that reckoning, if I don't work today, this day doesn't count, and then there's the weekend, and that would make it ...drat, never mind. Too much math. My head hurts now.
Fuzzy math, Lady Kett, but do-able.... 36!!!

33 or something closely resembling it.
Not getting your numbers all jumbled up, are you, Fraser? How many countdowns do you have running now?
Hey woman! Where you been hiding? Only one... Fae dug up my old one, from TRF, and occasionally i'll post a day count but RenDezvous get my full attention.
Time to start buying the booze.
I've been... having a difficult time lately, between sad family events and stomach 'flu... so I've been kinda quiet. Still not up to speed, but our Faire here is next weekend, so I have to find some energy somewhere...
That sucks, Rani... :(. I hope that you start feeling better... a good dose of "home faire" may be the ticket/cure-all! ;D
Lets hope so... between birthdays, anniversaries, funerals and stomach flu', it's bound to be the only relaxation I get for the rest of the month... Oh, did I forget to mention that I have just about a month to find a new place to live, and get moved...? Life is just a little hectic at the moment, but that's the thing about being a Sagittarius... we have to wait until everything seems as though it's right down to the wire before that incredible stroke of luck hits us like a bolt from the blue. Of course, it generally leaves standing in the middle of a smoking crater, but at least everything is fixed again for the moment once it's done... ::)
Sometimes the Universe has a perverse sense of humor... :P
I've noticed that meself, lass... keep the faith, it'll all work out. ;)
Heheh... it always seems to, anyway. ;)

Possibly because it wasn't started a whole year in advance...?

It's Fae Hollow's fault! She resurrected it! :D
Sure... blame it on someone else... :P
Well she did, dangnubbit! >:(

Yeah... and I noticed it didn't take you long to take up the count again, either... :P ;) LOL
Not complaining, mind you... I'm as entertained by it as you are. Who else is gonna let me give them such a hard time, and on such a regular basis? Well... besides that rodent, of course. ::) :D Maybe you should see how many consecutive years it will run! (snerk)

And I still have a TON of sewing to do ... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
I think I might actually be ready, except for the whole packing thing, which is never done until it's actually time to leave...
Replacement fly plaid is enroute.... Thank you, Seamus, at Sportkilt! Saved the day when another company screwed up my order!
Other than that and purchasing a large quantity of adult beverages, I'm good to go... sort of. ;D
28!
Ok, so I have to wash all my cotton again because it rained today, but that only takes a couple of hours... but I just realized that I will still have to pack the garb bins again after our Faire is over. ::)
One more Day, i assume you went to Norman today. I still have 3 months to wait.
Yes... and we're getting ready to head out again today. A bit later than I planned, but yesterday really took a lot of energy, and I slept hard...
26... or 25. depending on if you use "mundane" math or Rennie math.
When in doubt, Rennie Math is most definitely called for!
I seriously should read this part of the forum more.
28 days aint a bad thing. Gives me just enough time to stockpile my rum supply.
(And maybe, just maybe I can get some Loki ready by rendevious. That is if anyone wants some lol)
*28 days is just barely enough time on the rum though. For some reason the bottles have a hard time lasting that long at my house*

Seamus of Sportkilt to the rescue! I should have my plaid in the next couple of days.
That would have to be a pretty good size kilt if you two are going to SHARE it!!! Maybe even... a GREAT kilt, eh?!? :P
22... i said 22!
Looking at the list of hooligans... errrr, i mean visitors, i almost feel sorry for Scarby... :D
Ought to be an INTERESTING weekend.
Somewhere in the area of 19... rennie math.
Layin' down on the job again, Fraser? :P :D
Nah, just a long weekend... plus not wanting to be at work.
That's why you come here, instead of doing what you're being paid to do... :P heheh
But i'm out numbered! There are countless Pipe Gnomes... they are like lice. Swarm you under before you know they are even there... then i'm chasing pieces of pipe all over this 20 acre yard. >:(
oh, 18.
Gnomes are no match for you, Fraser! I have faith in you (although it couldn't hurt to get a good sturdy riding mower to run those little suckers down, also... or maybe a pipe snake... jus' saying...)! ;) :P
Well, my new baskethilt needs bapitized... hmmm. I wonder if the Fae would mind losing a few gnomes.... ???
I'm guessing Gnomes are kinda like the "red-headed step-child" of the Fae family, so I'm guessing the Pipe Gnomes in particular would hardly be missed... ;)

Nope... gnomes...
the elves went on strike and since Texas is a right to work state, they got fired and replaced with illegal gnomes.

7!!
I saw the number and was about to go into a frenzied "get it all together today" packing mode and then realized... There is a hotel involved here
No tents, no camping gear to gather and check out and possibly make repairs to.
Just... pack
Clothes, garb, loki and rum
Wow... that... really doesn't seem like near as much as normal lol
*time to visit the rum store tonight! Woo!*
I so totally know what you mean! Although, in my case, I have to UNpack the camping gear, so I still have just as much work to do.
And Fraser, we'll be there around noon-1ish, so maybe we can get an early start on the party! :D
We were curious when people were going to arrive. We were hoping to start the party at 2 ish...poolside with 12 oz arm curls maybe? ;D
WooT!!! We'll be staying at the Days Inn with the PR and Scoundrels crews, but I'm guessing poolside at the Super 8 will be the place to be Friday afternoon, eh? :D

My filght arrives at 1:10, plus picking up luggage, plus hour drive to hotel... I should be ready for an adult beverage by 3:00. ;)
leaving work around noon on friday and so we should be at the super 8 by 4-5ish. we'll be ready for the party! ;D
OMG!!! I'm so excited I can't even sit still!!! LOL
What is wrong with spending an afternoon hanging out with Ren-friends? It feels like TRF came early this year. I'm so excited. ;D
I still have to finish the pink pirates fancy new shirt but I can do that easily.
We have to wait for our daughter to get out of school and take her to her aunt's house. So, we won't be able to get there until 7 or 8. That really sucks! Oh well, I can't wait to see everyone!

Oh, indeed it IS!!! I have a feeling they'll all be
more than happy to see you, as well!!! I, myself, will have a BunnyFur clad roomie who is anxious to see you again, as well... ;) :D
And hopefully I will
finally have a Molden story of my own to tell... :P heheheheheheh
OMG! This time next week I'll be in the big state of Texas with all my new fairemily! WOOHOO!
Oh, wow... lookit Fraser, online on the WEEKEND!?! He must be picking up an extra shift to pay for that new kilt, ur sump'n... :P
Six days?!
I cannot believe it!
Can you all just get here already? Molden's in Texas already, ya'll gotta hurry up and catch up!
Can't wait to have everyone here! :-*
Wait... he's THERE?!? OMG, and I have to wait until Friday to head that way? Gaaaahhhh!!! Good thing check in time is noon... I'll be waiting in the lobby! :D
A very nervous-looking squirrel sitting amongst the garb to pack now...he hates that rare occasion when he gets left home...
All the garb is packed, some minor details do take care of and the all of it is ready to go. The mundane stuff will be packed on Thursday.
BTW would it be appreciated it I brought my sewing machine and portable sewing room to the Rendevous?
Well, if word gets round you might not get to leave your hotel room to even attend Faire... you'll be far too busy mending this and trimming that... :P heheh
I'll take that as a "Please bring it because SOMEBODY is going to have a wardrobe malfunction of somekind." ;D
I already have a huge rent in the side of my best green chemise, and it has to be covered with an overskirt because I don't have room right now to haul my machine down to fix it! it's a straight vertical tear, but it's not the seam, so it will show no matter what I do to it, although, as a Gypsy that's not necessarily a bad thing... ;) lol
Is it Friday yet?
Tonight I recheck the renbox to make sure all the extras are in place.
Start laying out the garb I plan to bring.
and generally wish that we could leave... like now
*also have to make certain I have enough rum... always an issue for me*
4!!
So says my rennie math!
Hey! Frasers awake! I didn't know they served breakfast this early at the home. ;D jk

Meathead. :D I'm up at 4am every morning... even the one's that i don't want/need to be. After these last few weeks, i feel like i'm ready for the home.
Oh, please... ::) You'll be in fine form in just a few days, and you know it! Doesn't matter how much you creak and groan when you bend and stretch, once you walk through that gate it will all just... melt away.
Of course, that doesn't mean that I'm not wound up so tightly right now that I could make music if I was plucked! :D I'm having a bit of trouble waiting!!! :P

Aye, ye are correct in thy thinking lass... as the color of Scarby surrounds me, all weariness shall melt away and i'll thank God that i came.

Please someone have the camera ready.

I'm beginning to get worried that I'm letting the pink pirate loose among everyone. ::shakes head:: I am sure we will have a VERY ineresting weekend.
Hahahah, Stitch, don't worry, we're bound to have all kinds of fun...
and get it on camera AND video!
OMGG!
Friday, get here quicker!!!!

You definitely have to see this to believe it, extremely detailed and beautiful outfit.
No the pink pirate is quite a trouble maker himself, and letting him loose with a bunch of troublemakers??? OY!
And somehow my "good" digital camara died on Saturday. I can take pictures but no screen. I have my old one that works but it is 10 years old and only 2.0 Megpix. :o
I'll have to rely on others for some photographic evidence.
*Lady Stitch has no clue what kind of troublemakers are coming... hee hee hee* :D
I'm just one of the more vocal ones... wait till you meet my brother, Black Watch. We have ways of keeping good men up all night drinking... and laughing at them AND their wives the next day. LOL ;D Ask Bonnie Pearl about that...

.....got those shin guards packed friend? looking at this weekend.... i see a lot of 'not in the face!' and 'Oww my shin!' in your very near future. ;D
Now you did it brother....(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3442/3929688052_d73e62b8e9_o.gif)

Oh, now I know who I'll be watching!
(and the idea of Fraser with shin guards... oh MY... that does conjure an image or two... ) :P
Well, Bonnie is a bit altitude challenged so she goes for the shins... if she kicks a shin hard enough, it'll bring the owners face down to her level, then BSB is unleashed. :D
she's going to kill me. hee hee hee
*remember greaves for next set of garb*
:o *greaves... definitely greaves. Maybe something in a nice high carbon steel*
*and maybe a spiked codpiece in case she goes looking for softer targets*
ya might want to just show up in a full set of armor ;D
but remember....i know where you are staying......and i'm sure i will find out where you'll be storing your booze! ;D
NO! NOT THE BOOZE!!

Hmmm... now this is interesting. Our Bonnie is looking to do physical damage to one of our Guardians... One can only wonder what extraordinary set of circumstance led to this state of affairs!?!
(oh, and a spiked cod piece may protect you from injury, but it will also make anything else you feel like doing with that general area far less... accessible...) :o

Talk to Spiky Crotch Saturday- I'm sure he has an extra. :o
For as long as I have known my clan, I can't remember a time when Sweet innocent and kind Bonnie hasn't had it in for Fraser. He must have knocked her drink over or something, that's the only thing that makes sense. Bonnie's is VERY partial to her alcohol. I mean really partial. And Fraser knows this. Heck, everyone knows how Bonnie really, really likes her booze. You simply would not believe how she hits the Loki. And lets not forget the Jagger bombs. Man, it's amazing to watch her put it away. Yeah buddy.
But yeah, Bonnie's always had it in for Fraser.
Hmmmm... and now perhaps for someone else, as well...? heheh
Reminds me of elementary school... the girls kicked the boys in the shins, and the boys pulled the girls pigtails and pushed them down on the playground... all because they didn't know yet any better methods of flirting...
You'd think things would change after 30 something years or so, huh? :P heheh

I think just about everyone on this forum is a kid at heart.
Well, we do all still like to play dress-up, anyway! :D
LMAO! Too funny!
Bonnie is a sweet, kind person... it's her evil sister, B*tch Slap, that you have to watch out for...
:D ;D
Rennie math says... 3!!
Ha! Bring it on!
Dress is finished and the hat will be finished up today with a few more splashy details. Clothes are set out, jewelry selected, flasks filled...
I am ready! ;D 8)
See you all Friday afternoon!
My rennie math says 2!
Today doesn't count, tomorrow and Thursday count, Friday doesn't count because i am off and leaving early to get to the hotel by 4-5ish
Mentally, I have been there for a while already

;D ;D ;D RENNIE MATH ;D ;D ;DYet another converted to my Rennie Math! ;D
Well done Teach! ;)
I'm thinkin' Wed. and Thur. could just be lumped into one day, because none of us are going to get any sleep then, anyway, right? So, wouldn't that make it only...
1 DAY?
;D
I don't know about the rest of you, but I have the rest of the week off. I could be at the camp grounds tomorrow taking in the peace and quiet and having several nice cold beers while the rest of you are still toiling under the weight of oppression from your hideous and tedious jobs MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
But more than likely I'll be trapped into doing something for someone else and I won't get there until Friday, when Fraser will belt me with a 2 by 4 from behind for being a butthead.
I take it that means you're coming to RenDezvous? SWEET!
woo hoo! it will be great to see ya again Rapier! ;D
2? 3? 1?
pick one of the above and roll with it. I still have to get through work tomorrow so....
I am going with 1!
Tomorrow is the only day that stands between mundania and faire.
*nothing stands between me and rum... except maybe more rum*
1 works for me!!! I even have the renlet doing Rennie math, although she's also doing standardized testing this week, so we'll see how well that goes over... :P LOL
I count it as 1 and half. I came in to work and was given a Certiciate for a free PAID day off. Hmmm when might I want to take this.... ;D Is it Rendevous yet ...... :: whine::
T minus 24 hours until wheels up!
The Marylanders will be enroute shortly!
Joyce Ann, Amras, Lady Guinness and I will be starting the trip with Bloody Mary's and Mimosas in the airport Green Turtle!
To all who are flying/driving in. Have a safe trip.
WOOT! This is it! All i have to do is make it through the next 10-11 hours and I'm good to go.
All gear stowed... kit packed...
Julie's Rennie Math says 0!!!
Huzzah! And welcome to Rennie Math Graduation Fraser!
I'm so ready! ;D
O days to go!
Why aren't I at faire already?
OK, mentally I have been there a while but I want to be physically there... Now!
*wonder how much rum I can drink between now and then...*
Gaaaaahhhhh!!! I STILL have waaaay too much to do today!!!
I just had an alert come up saying. "16 hours until your vacation" Ok it is more than 16 hours but it is getting me excited about it. I have been busting my back side to get the Pink Pirates new shirt done. Also the packing of the mundane clothing (Must I have mundane clothing during Rendevous???) Then the final cleaning of the house. I don't like coming home to a messy house!
So much to do so little time till Rendevous!!!
Golly, been in Texas for a week now, and tomorrow I get to cast work aside and head to RenDezvous! And let me tell you, work has been abysmal this week. I am SO looking forward to this weekend.
