Arrrghhhh!!!!
Since there are a lot of us that are Pirates in this area I thought it would be fun to start up a "Pirate crew". Everyone can sign up and state your "abilities" for the ship. Once we get a bunch of people we hold a meetin' and just like in the old days we elect a Captain. The Captain then in turn elects his/her "higher crew members" (first mate, surgeon, gunner, carpenter, ect) by their abilities they signed up under. We then make are own "articles/laws of the ship". And of course we name the ship.
We have almost monthly pub nights, well now we can monthly Pirate meetins' and such. I for one would like to walk around the grounds of fest as part of a pirate party and have a ship to say Im from.
As always the Captain can be out voted if the duties are too becoming of that person, there can always be a mutiny and such or whatever.
I am in the process of making "certificates" of membership and such. We could get our own pin or medallion made for our crew. There could even be initiations (fun type) or something too.
Pipe in your comments and suggestions. I know Luundegaard has something like this but this would be strictly a MN thing for our festival or whatever. Ive always wanted to be part a pirate crew so heres hoping there are people out there too with the same attitude. ;D
What about those of us who can't make it to the cities every month and don't always dress as pirate?

I fyou look at the roster, we're #88, because we only have two crew members at the moment. Been trying to get others to join it so we can have our own chapter up here.....or so I thought.

DB: I do! It's just I have emailed you before about upping membership and never got replies. I don't recall if this was during the hacker phase or not. I was just throwing out an idea. If you and everyone else are ok with becoming part of the Blatherscythe thats awesome. Let's start getting peoples signed up!!!!!
Erynn: I dont think it matters where you live and you dont have to make meetins just have to say you're part of the group and abide by the laws arrgghhh!!!

Doesn't it cost like 45 bucks to join Lundegaard though? That's the impression I have anyway. Maybe I am mistaken. It's been a while since I have been to their site. I will have to go check that out again.

Well, I have the means to join it now, and I see they have more stuff in stock, so I guess if other people are thinking of joining I might as well. When I get home from work that is. ::)

Yes, I'm not requiring anyone to have the Lundegaard guild membership, but would like everyone to have one at some point. I don't want anyone to feel like they can't do this just because they don't have the membership.

Sleepy! I think this is GREAT idea! I would love to be on your ship, that is if I can be admiral (j/K) and rage will be whatever..he doesnt care. I so love your ideas for this, if you don't mind, want to get together and chat it up? talk details and such? oooh and we could come up with our own flag!!!! I could design something for it! Agreed, Sleepy the Pirate Capt. of MN.
I tried to join Sleepy & DB's crew last summer but because I was not a member there was no way for me to join (at the time, they may have changed that). Regardless of the guild we can still start a crew & ship for our group. Not everyone will or can afford to join the guild.

Already? I looked yesterday and they were sold out, then this morning there were 4 in stock. Quick lil buggers.
I am sticking with DB's ship for now. We had a miscommunication I think with the hackers from the other site where he never got my renmails.
At any rate. You dont need the Luundegard membership to be part of the group, I think the only requirement now is that you renmail DB about posible postions.

Hmmm.... I guess I will not be joining the crew as I stated above some people will not or can not afford to join the guild. I for one tried to join before. I do not want to and can't afford to join the guild now. Yes I realize that you do not have to join the guild to be part of the crew but if we are to join the guild eventually then I am out.
I was looking at this as just something fun to do as a group not an organized group or guild.

not realizing that you meant the lundgaard pirate ship thing that you and DB are on.

Catching up on topics and I'm way confused.
I know DB & Sleepy had the ship thing going...I know it was with Lundegaard and all, but I thought it didn't require anyone to join at all.
I remember DB's ship from the other forum where he put it on the guild list, but still had people being members of it anyway. It can still be a MN ship and such, but also listed as a Lundegaard guild one too. People who join the guild can join, but people who don't...it'll still be a MN ship none-the-less.
Is that the idea of the topic?

I can't believe I missed this post. I would love to be a member of the crew. Being an old salt, I'd love to be part of a ships crew that always has fun. I can offer my services as the Cook, seeing as how I was a real ships cook in the Navy or Musician (thought I haven't played and instrument in years??) What ever is needed. I've wanted to officially join the Blatherscythe Crew, but money is an issue right now, as has been for quite some time. I asked the wife about it before my birthday, but it never worked out. Since I lost my job shortly there after.

If everyone sends me their snail mail and what name they want I will be mailing out your "certificate" certifying you are part of the ship. It will have your "pirate name" and your official job upon the ship. Its sort of like Lundegaards but its free and just for fun.
I think its in order that we have a meetin of sorts soon too. Pirates need to be drinking and me mouth is parched...
I call musician! I will be a drunken musician, but that only makes me a better pirate musician.
