Title: New members of the Ex PRF employees club
Post by: Countess Westmorland on January 15, 2010, 02:32:27 PM
Hi, Gang,
I just want to say that Terry and I will NOT be returning to PRF this season.  Yeah, he got the call this AM that they will not pay him what the other faires pay him.  So this made my decision very easy.  You all know I have been undecided about returning because of several things. I am rather relieved and just chose to walk away.  Not sure if we will grace Morelandshire with our presence this season but, if we do, it will be in comfy mundane clothes.  I don't care to add to their ambience since they depend on the playtrons for that instead of cast.
Love Ya All!
Jan, the Ex Queen and happier for it!

You have always been and will always be my Queen.  When one gate closes, another opens.

I have been talking to faires all over the country and the biggest detriment to my reputation is that I have allowed myself to work for this organization.  It is now a badge of honor that I walked away.

Funny, I didn't hear the cannon for that gate closing.  Are we re-leas-ed?

I'll third that one!  It was a pleasure to get to work with both of you if only for one weekend and you will be missed!

From all the things i have heard about Morelandshire, you were one of the most treasured and positive people.  Someone to search out and get to know.  We have not had any face to face dealings, but I am glad to think that our paths may yet cross at another shire.  I know you will truly be missed by those who reside in Morlandshire and those who just pass through.

Your kindred...

You might as well go ahead and add me to the mix as well. Jan even though it was only for one weekend you and Terry will both be missed at Morelandshire next season. It was truly a pleasure getting to know and work with you both last year. Best wishes to you both in your future encounters.

Thank you, everyone, for your kind words.  In some way I am really sad to have to leave.  But, on the other hand, there is no way I could stay and put up with the heartache of seeing others being fired or not rehired at all on a whim and a bad business plan.  I am tired of working in fear every single day because there is the chance that I could be hauled on the carpet for not busting my butt enough.  Not having a break or barely any time for lunch and trying to be in 3 places at the same time because we only had 13 on cast and several acres of people to interact with isn't working hard enough.
I hope to see everyone again.  And to those from afar, if you travel to our, oh, isn't mine any longer, the shire, I may be there.
Love to you all!
Jan

what in the hell is going on out there??????????? this is why even as a pittsburgh resident i take the time to drive to lancaster or fly to kc to get my renfaire on. this operation has always lacked professional and intilligent management, before or in the latest incarnation.

seriously guys, what are they trying to do, close it AGAIN???

on a lighter note, here is the joke of the day............all this time i thought OMG stood for oh mighty groundhog. hehe.

Even though it is old news now, I suppose I should add my name to the list.  The experience of working at the faire has changed for me over the years.  Many dear people, including my own daughter, are no longer there, and the place doesn't feel the same.  So I have decided not to return this year.

Kip, my friend, there are more that used to be on cast than are on cast.  We now out number them.  Here's to all those absemt friends.  Yes, there is a life after PRF.

I will sorely miss everyone not returning this year, part of the reason I've always enjoyed going was looking for the familiar faces I'd come to know and love.   :'( It makes my heart hurt knowing that those faces are becoming fewer and fewer
