Just trying to get an idea of who all is going?
Lady Guinness and I plan to be there for most of the weekend. We really had a great time last year. We couldn't wait to go back this year.
Scotsman & Lady Guinness
Laird Slorach Gomerel + wife
Dinky Wench
FaireGirl69
Colleen McGuinness
Lady Del La Warr & Sir Oswyn
Caria
JeannieMac
The wife & I will definitely be there! ;D
Also, some members of the Brotherhood of the Kilt, will tag along!
Excellent! The line up this year looks pretty good!
I am looking forward to the fling, it will be a lovely weekend in PA. As usual.
i've never been to the celtic fling...do people dress in garb???
We'll be there on Saturday only. See you then! ;)
dinky - Some do, but not a whole lot. You'll see some of the normal faire garb but not nearly as much as during the faire season. Its mostly in kilts and tartans and that type of thing.
It goes without saying that I'll make an appearance. Not sure if I'm working anywhere for it yet, but I'll be around.
Well it looks like a good crew for the Fling ... I guess I will keep a running list on the opening page.
Possibly Sir Oswyn and I on Saturday???
We might be able to swing that :)

Good, I will add you guys to the list
Celtic Fling...........Is this like an annual tradtition at PARF or is this something different altogether? Someone tell me a little about this this sounds interesting.
About 6-10 of my BoTK & Clan McFecke brothers & sisters will be there Saturday & Sunday, too! :D

This is something altogether different. It's at the PARF grounds but it's at the end of June. PARF doesn't begin until August.
You should come and join us and check it out!
I think I just might come and check this out.But only on one condition that I can have a lovely young lass such as you on my arm my Dear sweet Queen. We may be of English Blood and Yes Queen Bess may be my sovereign but know you Your Majesty that it would make me a very lucky young noble Lord to have another sovereign Queen as my right hand.We must not tell Queen Bess of this we must keep this a secret but I be Henry Wriothsley 3rd Earl of Southamtpon at your service here to help and serve you in any way I can.
My Champion Knight, Sir Oswyn Dagworth, is very protective Milord, but methinks he would be willing to allow a high ranking gentleman such as yourself to escort his Queen should he need a respite from his duties. Especially since you have proclaimed to all your willingness to serve the interests of his Queen ;)
I shall look forward to seeing you at the Fling Milord.
Your majesty,
I could never take the place of your Champion Knight, for he is your champion as i am just a faithful young lord my good Queen. For we do hope that we have not offended your good Sir Oswyn Dagworth. If we have you good Sir then I do offer my humble apologies upon thee.It is just that in sueth I be a single young lad and have been so for quite some time and I am kind of embarassed to be the only single young in such a fine Clan as the M'Cracks. That is a secret that I do not share with many people so I am asking you my Good Queen Anne as well the rest of this fine Clan not to look upon me any different. That is just a side of my life that i am ashamed to share if you do know what I mean.

Oh good Sir.........methinks my Champion would be most pleased that a young Lord such as yourself is present to assist him in the protection of his Queen. It is an arduous task at best for my good Knight, so I believe he will welcome the help.
As for being the only single gentleman in our fine Clan........you couldn't be further from the truth. There are many single lads in our Clan. So be not embarrassed Milord. Tis nothing to be embarrassed about - we shall look at you as you, nothing more, nothing less - and your marital status will never be held against you - or anyone.
Speaking of your Queen Bess........we shall endeavor to keep your pledge from her ears. However be it known that your lovely Queen and myself have met many times and are in fact considered friends. Therefore I do not think she would be averse to loaning her most loyal subject Lord Wriothsley to a visiting Queen for a day!
Lord Wriothsley,
Your allegiance is most appreciated. Should I find myself in need of a spell I shall accept your offer.

See? I knew that would be his response ;)
I'll be attending the fling for only one day, though as of yet I don't know which day I'll be there. It depends on Conrad Killigan's work schedule as he will be taking the ride with me (so you can put him on the list as well). I'm also hoping to bring FF up with me as well, keep your fingers crossed that her schedule works out so she can enjoy the festivities as well!
Oh I so hope you can make it on Saturday Caria! It would be lovely to see you!
I will be there for some of Saturday, although with most of my normal season crew. Like I said on the last post about PARF-season - I don't think I know any of you or vice-versa.

And as I said in my post about PARF-season, please be sure to seek us out. We'd all be very happy to meet you!
Saturday weather:
Hot as hell with a chance of showers to cool us down ... sounds good to me! Bring it on baby!
Just keep your fingers crossed that it stays showers...the faire will shut an event down if there's a threat of lightning strikes. It happened a couple years ago at the Fling and its been known to shorten faire days also. They'll be watching the forecasts like hawks, I'm sure, but don't be surprised if you see lightning in the distance and then start hearing the announcements that the rest of theday's events are cancelled.
Otherwise, I'll see everyone there! I'm at least going on Saturday with some family and I might be working at the Bacchus wine sampling station on Sunday. Have fun and stay safe!
Okay Scotsman when you say Hot as Hell do you mean triple digit hot or high 90's hot?

94ish, but I believe the heat index is expected to be higher ...
Colleen, I sure hope they don't kick us out. The only other time I was kicked out of a faire was PARF during Ernesto in 2006? I believe. What a storm and in my opinion a great day for faire.
See you all there!
Met up with some friends from BoTK, there.

Sorry I couldn't stay and chat, I was being pulled in different directions and trying to find people then but I wanted to say hello anyway. Come find me during a faire day sometime, by then the "I haven't seen you in so long"'s and the "Come and talk for awhile"'s and all that will be out of everyone's sytems.
The weather actually turned out pretty good for the weekend. I wish I went back on Sunday now but I took that morning's forecast and the view out of my window a little too literally that morning - I missed a great day by the look of it. Hope everyone who made it had fun, see you all in August!
Eileen,
I'm sorry I couldn't make it to the fling this year.I wanted so badly to come but real life stepped in the way in the form of no transportation and that my money situation is a little tight right now.I'm sure you guys had a blast up there getting to drink all that beer which i'm jealous about and getting to be in each others company.I will however be seeing you in August as i will be making an appearance at PARF this year.I hope that you and the Amors will let me play your nobles guilde as i do have alot of fun playing with other faires nobles guildes. If i see you I will stop by and say hi you can count on that.
How big was the cup stack at the end of the day?

OMG ... The stack was at least 3.5 feet tall and consisted of plastic & glass cups! The comments I got were hilarious!
I suppose you had your own mini caber.
