Title: The NY Forum..
Post by: Brother Robert of Essex on August 25, 2008, 09:15:46 AM

Man with all the people I see who seem to be very into the Faire, the NY Forum sure seems dead. There is only like.. 3 or 4 of us alive on here?  I wonder where the rest of the people are. The other boards seem way more active.

true, it does feel like there are a few more acres here in this neck of the wood, (where is everybody?) lol, instead of lets say, Shakopee, Westmoreland, or Scarborough.

Don't forget Tennesee!!!   ;)

I'd like to see more interaction from the other areas in the forum as well.  We never hear from them....

Sorry for not posting more often.  NYRF is my home faire and this is my 26th season working production/performance company.  Stop by a Crimson Pirate set and say Hi!  I'm Grace O'Malley.  I probably won't be able to chat since I am scheduled pretty heavily this year but I do check the board when I get a chance.

Robin

I am curious, you say you have been involved with production at NYC rennfest for 26 years.  That would put you first year aound 1982.  the first year that I went there was 1983, I along with a local young lady won the costume contest that year.  The cast member that impressed me the most was the lady who played the Queen mother.  Is she still with the faire.  I remember her not for what happened that year but with what happened 4 years later.

Blakduke,

No, Lucy retired several years ago.  I believe her last year was 1996 or '97.  My first year was 1983 also. In our pre-"Elizabethan" years I was Princess/Duchess Eleanor in 1994 & 1995.  We launched the Crimson Pirates the following year in 1996.  Since then I have been Grace O'Malley and/or Fanny Little in the Robin Hood band ('97, '98, '99, '01).  Curious, what happened 4 years later? I think that would be 1987, the year of the "Scottish play" and constant rain!
