*giggle* The Hookah bar is still operational as of Castleteer weekend... I'm heading up to Louisville this weekend (Saturday) so I'll make sure to check on it for you. ;)
I guess I need to get my season pass ordered.... Been slacking on that (can't help it, TNRF is coming up all too soon, too!)

I have every intention to be present opening weekend (even if I have to drill my own hole and make my own gasoline), and at -least- one other, though it'll be on a random and surprise basis if I don't find a job with the quickness. =D
Lady E's work schedule is changing up, but we're doing what we can to make sure she gets there...hopefully at least Sunday of opening weekend.
As previously stated on KHRF boards (and yes - I feel the need to repeat myself).. Me and mine will be there opening weekend! And hopefully many of the weekends this season..which reminds me, thank you papa, that I need to get our season passes! ;D
We're hoping to get Sir Mard down to visit a few times from St Louis; he always tries to make at least -one- weekend at KY though I am hoping we can convince him to visit a few more times than just his regular once. My wench will also be about, when she can manage for work to let her off. To my knowledge, she's got the clear intentions of being there opening weekend. (yes, I threatened her with bodily harm..though no real threat was needed).
Can't wait to see all of you!
I won't be getting a season pass... just in case my prego-ness gets the best of me. I'll likely be there for the invasion weekends and stuff but we'll see about the other weekends.

I'll be there at least once this season, and hopefully a couple of more times! I'm not sure which weekends yet, though. since I live in e-town it's not exactly a long drive up to eminence, so it's usually a spur of the moment decision. xD
We will be there every weekend. :D
Eagerly counting down the days...
I'm going to have to change myself to a maybe for Opening Weekend, due to the possibility of employment. I have an interview at King's Island next week (to get me through 'til I actually find a -good- job), and if they hire me, I don't think I'll be able to get time off that early. So, definitely sometime in June, -maybe- opening weekend.
((Especially considering I also have an interview for a company in Louisville next week...and it's a M-F type job!))

I've been going to TNRF almost half my life. I'm hoping I can still get up there when I go to college in SC this fall. hurm. but I don't want to think about that right now!
Haha there's really nothing special about my name. my real name's chelsy, but someone started calling me chela a few years ago and it just stuck.
and you never know, I might be there on... sunday of opening weekend. a graduation present to myself, perchance.
We won't be able to make opening gate but we will be there on June 13-14 already have reservations at the Shellbyville best western will be coming in Friday!!! Anybody else stayong there maybe we can get together for dinner friday night.
I'll usally be at the faire site some time on Fridays. It just depends on what time I get off from Wal-mart and can get down there since it's about a 2 hour drive. Just a reminder I'll have the book in the booth for you guys to sign in along with the reminder banner for the R/Fers. I still have so much left to do. My body needs to start working with me so I can get every thing situated.

The final say: I won't be there for the Opening of Gates, sadly. (Because I am now happily employed at King's Island...okay, happy is relative...but at least it pays until I find something better.) I will, however, be begging, borrowing, and stealing (and calling off work if necessary) in order to be there June 20th, even if I don't make it any other time. So, yay!
If anyone's making a trip to KI this summer, stop by Emporium. It's the big store on the left side of the fountains as you come into the park (according to the map, at any rate). That's where I'll be working, so look for me!

Every one will have to stop by my brand new building! :D I now have a booth , No more tents, No more flooding when & if it rains. I couldn't ask for a better location either. Not far from the Twisted Thistle and right across from the new wedding chaple. I'm so happy. (Doing what little of a happy dance I can without hurting myself) I'll post pictures as soon as I can.
Huzzah! Huzzah! It is a miracle! I managed to get the weekend off!
I vowed to myself that I would not miss KHRF this year, as I did last year. And even though this is last minute, and I may be eating out of the trash cans and sleeping in my car (haha, kidding) this may be the only chance I get to go . . . .
It's sad that jinx may not be able to accompany me, but I am excited to go and see everyone! And meet some new faces! So far the plan is to leave early Saturday morning (to avoid losing sleep since I won't get off work until late the night before) and possibly attend part of the day. But I for sure will be there all day Sunday.

I truly enjoyed meeting you, and it's good that we are actually neighbors! :) You have a lovely booth and your work is beautiful. I'm sorry you're having to deal with pain and a bit of disability, as am I. First day was quite busy for me, with decent sales, family coming in to visit, trying to lock down a job for the rest of the faire, since Chris won't need my help after the second weekend.
Yesterday was much MUCH quieter, so I spent much of my time sitting quietly in the corner stitching together leather pouches. So, this weekend coming, should you happen by and see an empty wooden chair sitting out on the side deck, and the shop appears empty, just slip back to that corner and have a seat. I'll, no doubt, be sitting behind the desk working on pouches. :)
Haha.... this prego girl will be taking up on any seats that are offered. Hence why you found us holding down a picnic table, LOL. :)

I was wonderful to meet you as well. It was nice to put actual faces with the names on the fourm. We had about 30 people sign in this weekend, that was even more then invasion weekend last year. I agree with Jezzy any day at faire is 100% better then the mundane job.

I think I've finally pinpointed a weekend and should be there on the 13th or 14th! I know for a fact it won't be the weekend of the 20th because I'll be in SC that weekend, so I'm trying to make it up to see you guys before then. It's only an hour drive so I should be there.

I will be driving back Saturday night, sadly.
I can't wait for this weekend. I'll have my summer daughter down for the rest of the season and this will be here first chance to meet everyone she always hears about from Grandma,Grandpa and me :D. Plus for a added bonus she turns 14 Friday and I'm taking her to the fair site that night so we will go out for a birthday dinner somewhere ;D.

Well it's not me, it's my ride, Faye! haha. But I'll be there on Saturday. I'll be in my normal garb, with a girl dressed as a pirate. And we'll be by the RF.com sign-in place and one point during the day. Haha.
Also, to make this not quite so about me, anyone have any ideas on how to attach a feather (rather, a group of feathers) to a straw hat with a flexible brim? The feathers are on a piece of wire about six inches long. I had to get a new feather cluster thing after my last one got soaked at TNRF, and I'm looking for a new way to attach it before Saturday.

Hmm... normally when I can't make a cluster fancy and attach them to a pin, I usually trim the wire with wire cutters, wrap it in floral tape, then sew it into the hat. A straw hat would be really easy to sew them into.
Oh yeah and normally I can be found in the pub. Can't miss it (you'll see - it's huge hehe) - although when Albannach starts playing I'll be running down the hill.

We are attending this weekend, both days I think...
We wil both be quite tired as we both work tonight, (My lady, more than I) and will leave for the fest in the AM when we get off work.

Leanne (my pirate friend, haha) and I are getting ready to head out now. We're gonna have to do the classic 'changing into garb in the parking lot' routine, but I'm used to it by this point. I hope I can find some wirecutters before I head out of the house this morning... hurm. But yes. We'll be walking around most of the day, but we'll be sitting for Kaboom at some point, Albannach, and the joust, so I'll see y'all around!

We made it home. It was great to meet some new friends todays. Albannach rocked.
Albannach was awesome! I'm sad that I'll be in SC next weekend and won't be able to see them again-- especially Aya, but Faye (I believe! or was it Jinx? I don't remember, sorry.) and I discussed that. Haha. I wish I would've gotten a picture with you guys, or at least hung out some more. Sorry. :/ I have some pictures on my facebook, though, if anyone happens to be interested.

me Magie and the grandyoung'uns enjoy'd themselves very much so. they always want to see the shows of "Nutt'n but MUD" and "Doctor Kaboom", but with the add'd feature of Albannach, which they were dance'n like little sprites around me's, they really enjoy'd there visit to KYHRF. a wonderful time me Belle and em had see'n some of our good friends that were a visit'n from Mich.
and now of course we prepare for next weekend, fore we plan to be there Sat.

Looks like I'll be attending again on the weekend of the 4th . . . and for both days this time!

My daughter and I visited this lovely faire for the first time yesterday (Father's Day). What a lovely site for a growing faire....they are doing SO many things RIGHT! Even the entrance was delightful!
David Ross was a wonderful introduction for Albannach, who were superb! The atmosphere was so cozy and familiar that I felt perfectly comfortable approaching them for a quick conversation following their performance. My daughter loved Doktor Kaboom as did I. It was nice to see another side of Chunky ;D
I loved how the vendors were scattered throughout the woods....it was a much larger area than I imagined!
Also, I have no idea who this cast member was, but she was continually polite and quietly inviting througout our visit...thank you for making us feel comfortable....it was our first faire other than ORF and was a lovely experience :)

I had a BLAST this weekend, everyone. And I'm in hopes that it won't be my last. I'm job-searching again (in Louisville this time, as I now -have- to move), so I can only hope my next new job will accommodate at least a little time off for Faire!

Thank you for your kind words Tinker! I was also sorry to miss you and Belle, knowing you are there often. I had been hoping to attend, and things fell into place at the last minute. Not one to miss such an opportunity, I grabbed the young un and got to faire ASAP (which would be 2 hours) :o
I look forward to seeing both of you at ORF this year and certainly plan to visit at some point during the invasion. The price of a season pass has gone up considerably, but don't think that will stop me! ;D
