Title: Getting ahold of faire directors
Post by: magicxx on April 20, 2012, 01:38:59 PM
For those of you performers who are used to traveling between faires and having your own stage and show times, how difficult is it usually for you to get ahold of festival directors/coordinators? My group is performing at a festival this weekend (which I won't name since I'm sure they're just busy and I don't want to make them look bad) and we still don't know our show times. Whenever I manage to get ahold of someone, which is more rare than I like, they are always out of the office and will call me back to let me know.

Maybe I'm just being too picky, but I would like to know our show times ahead of time so we can plan. I just like to be organized. :<

It's not unusual to not know your show times until arrival on site :) Check the festival website, or call another performer who is already on site and can walk over and look at the sign.

Some faires I've actually had months of notice on my show times. Others I find out at that morning meeting. Just the nature of the business, sadly.

We just figure that there are a million things for them to do-and the week before a fest, worst time to reach them.

think of it as a compliment that you *aren't* one of the worries.
