Has anyone seen the recent (2012) Treasure Island? It's a two part mini-series, Eddie Izzard plays Long John Silver, and some other top tier actors appear in small roles.
I thought overall that it was a pretty good take on the novel, but it veers from the book in a couple of ways that bugged me.
Good atmosphere, and I thought the young actor who played Jim Hawkins was pretty good.
Any one else want to weigh in?
I absolutely loved the sound track, but have not been able to acquire a copy of it. As far as the movie goes, I enjoyed it.
It is very much a darker version, I think, and inserted a few interesting wrinkles into the story which was kinda neat. I'd call it a re-imagining of the story. It is out on DVD.
