I just finished this plaque and wanted to share the message, since its something I learned at Faire. As someone who has struggled all of my life with social anxiety and depression, it has been our local Ren Faire that has given me a place to learn how to enjoy life, and most importantly not worry about what someone else might think.
Dance as if no one were watching,
Sing as if no one were listening,
And live every day as if it were your last.
That pretty much sums it up. The plaque is basswood, stained a golden pecan and finished in water-based gloss. The design outline is woodburned and colored in oil pencils. I thought it fitting to use many colors, because Faire is such a colorful, festive place. The pencil is done is several layers to give it some depth and vibrancy.

Thanks for letting me share!
Very nice indeed. :)
It's a wonderful saying and your work is beautiful!
It is beautiful! I love the colors. ;D
How lovely...and encouraging. :)
What lovely work! I to know the depression/anxiety thing...Faire always lifts it away.....
Thank you all for the kind words.
Your work is beautiful.
Thank you. I just recently picked up the colored pencils again, and doing pyrography is something I just started to learn. Its a much needed creative outlet that I didn't even realize I needed until recently.
That's really nice work you did on the plaque.
Were the Celtic Knots done free-hand?
Take Care,
David Baldock
Thank you, David. The knots are done with an online program the allows the user to edit a big block of knotwork into various configurations. I'm working on two star-shaped boxes tonight that use a pattern I designed freehand recently to fit the lids..

Its much simpler, but I'm just learning so I hope one day I'll be able to make more intricate patterns.
Do you sell those plaques? If not, are you considering it? That is so beautiful. I bet people would buy them!
Thanks, Renee! I just started trying to sell some wares thru Artfire, but haven't done too much work on marketing yet. Still, I made my first sale recently and that's enough to keep me hopeful. I listed myself on the merchant listing on the forums here, and am considering speaking with some vendors at Faire to see if they would be interested in consignment sales. I'm also thinking about hitting the local arts and crafts faires, still looking into that.
very nice but your missing one line in that it say love like you've never been hurt
That's a good addition!
Amazing work!!!! I love it!!
Gorgeous!
