QuotePopular in their home country of Belarus, they've been working their way across the country on a US tour funded entirely by Kickstarter. Known for their unusual covers of tunes by Metalica and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, their true passion is medieval music with a kick. They'll be on the Pavilion Stage for 5 shows a day, this weekend.

Sorry to miss them; I enjoy their music
Great music. Would have liked to have seen them. Nice videos.
We finally made it out to the Fest Saturday for the 1st time this year. Was a great day. Looking forward to getting out there a few more times.

i was among their kickstarter backers, so made a point of getting out to see them. and buy another of their CDs.
their music is also available on iTunes, Bandcamp, etc. :D
I backed it, too, and have gotten my cd but haven't listened to it yet. I saw something on FB, though, that made me think someone stole one of their lutes; I mean, a lute was stolen, but I assumed it belonged to this group. Anyone else hear that? or has it been returned?
Ilia's lute was stolen from Stary Olsa. As far as we at fest have heard, it has not been recovered. 😞
There's talk of a fund raiser to help replace it, but I haven't seen anything yet.
MNRF is going to try to get them back for next season.
I've heard a lot of talk too, but there doesn't seem to be anyone in an appropriate place of authority spearheading it. Need to get moving soon while it is still fresh in people's minds.
oh that's rotten. lute != loot
The artistic director just announced they will be back for the last weekend of MNRF performing 5 times daily Sat & Sun.

Stary Olsa, the crowd favorite Belarusian band from last year, will be back during our Labor Day weekend on September 2, 3 and 4, as well as Oktoberfest on September 30-October 1.
I've watched a lot of their videos on YouTube, but I didn't get to hear them, when they were here touring in the USA last Fall.
However, they're back in the USA this Spring, and performing at Sherwood Forest Faire (near Austin, TX), at least through March.
Apparently, they'll also be in Maryland and NYC during the Summer.
They are doing great job. Really... You can see passion in their eyes! I hope to see them live one day ;D
