Quote
Mid-America Festivals has just two more seasons of the Renaissance Festival at the existing Shakopee site before it has to move to a new location, and Jordan is the preferred new location.

Last fall, Mid-America Festivals purchased 150 acres of land along County Road 59 (Delaware Avenue), north of Highway 169 in St. Lawrence Township near the Scott County Fairgrounds.

It seems to me the longer they are a lame duck at the current site no one is putting any work or resources into updating their buildings.  I love going but the smells are getting worse each year.  Seems time to rip the band aid off and just move to the new site.

Problem is it takes time to get permits and environmental studies done. One of the articles said there would even have to be a quick archeological survey done.

Of course, currently they have other legal troubles to worry about what with the artistic director being currently out on bail for an alleged on-festival site rape last season. His next court date is reportedly the week before Labor Day
