Lol, I won't start preparing for awhile. I will probably really get into gear preparing about two months before auditions come up. That's when I'll start looking at monolgues and songs and all that. Of course I will also run them all through the advice provided at the audition seminar (which I really hope they have again. It was so helpful.)

It was a lot of fun. I cannot wait for the coming season.

For anyone who is interested, auditions for the 2010 Robin Hood Spring Festival are up. If you want a spot, e-mail the director for a spot! Here's a link to the Act at the Faire page! :D

Become an Actor at CTRF (http://www.ctfaire.com/spring/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=51&Itemid=66)

I'll definitely be auditioning. Hope to see others there too!

So, auditions were this past Saturday. And they are already well on their way towards getting the show going and on the road. Wanna know how I know? Cause they already gave out parts. The fight director already started choreography and I believe rehearsals start this Saturday.

You'll definitely see me there. I play the part of Ellen A-Dale! So all you rf people, when you see me, let me know who you are! I'd love to meet you! :D

I hope you got the part you wanted ! Sadly will not be able to attend the spring faire due to lack of preparation and scheduling . I will however be attending the fall faire , I'm 80 % done with all preparations . All i need to do is tighten a few bolts and order out of stocks .

I am very much looking forward to the new spring faire opening this weekend. The CTRF is my home faire ,and I know this faire will just as much fun. This will help bridge the gap to the fall faire.

Sorry, since Connecticut Renaissance Faire has decided to start stripping it's fairs of anything pirate related, it's hard to get excited about it.   First no Pirate Stage last year, this year no Brigands and no Pirate Invasion weekend ( it's a Barbarian Invasion) and by next year no pirate acts or elements at all.

no pirate  weekend ? wow Columbus day weekend was always pirate invasion .
i likes the costume changes (even though i didn't have one ) and loved hearing the Brigands from my booth , they were a lot of fun . i didn't notice until i went back and looked at the website .

Well, as Caer Leon's shady Hansa merchant, I was never that fond of pirates as a group  but I would be sad to see Capt. Thighbiter go  ...

Well my good Frederic, sadness will abound then. The Brigands will not be returning to the Connecticut Renaissance Faire, either the spring Robin Hood Faire or the fall King Arthur Harvest Faire.  We are going to miss all of our New England Fairmily and friends.

that is very sad , the last few years i got so used to hearing pirate music near my booth .
i will be vending at the spring faire in 2011 , the notice given for the spring faire was not enough time for me to arrange going . i will be ready this coming year .

I will be attending the 9th and 10th of october, for my first visit to the CT faire. I was wondering if any of you regulars to it could tell me what shows are a "can't miss". I personally love going and listening to the musical acts the most. So any groups that you think are great I would like to hear about so I am not just wandering around trying to find the good stuff in such a limited amount of time.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Well, Chainsmith  - there appears to have been some turnover in the musical acts since last year - A couple of my favorites are gone, and some new ones showed up, that I don't really know yet.  I caught part of the "Lost Boys" and they seem pretty decent (its the first year for them at CTRF).  Actually, I think the best performer there is Jayna Lee, the acrobat - its not music, but don't miss her show.

I caught Jayna's act a few times at NYRF this year. Very talented lady there. Im just sorry she got stuck all the way at the back of the faire. But it was the best land for the set up she has.

First, I have to report that news of a "pirate-free" CTRF is inaccurate. This weekend is the "invasion weekend," and while not exclusively pirate themed, CTRF is having a pirate costume contest -- judged by two supporting actors from the first "Pirates of the Caribbean," no less. And those gentlemen will be signing autographs.

Also, the Bawdy Buccaneers are there with a big and very nice pirate ship backdrop stage, where the duo of Mortis & Murphy also perform (not strictly piratical, but sea shanties are part of the repertoire), and for the next three weekends the pirate comedy swordfighting duo of Buckle and Swash will be present.

As for acts worth seeing, beyond the aforementioned musical acts and Jayna Lee, who is ten kinds of awesome, I'd say check out Wonderfool, Zoltan the Adequate, the Repeat Offenders, I.B. Spies (very good show for the kids), Poprah (not at all good for kids, great for adults with warped senses of humor), the Lost Boys, and of course the scenario and jousts.

Last weekend of the season - looks to be a good weather day on Saturday, at least.  Lets end it in style!
