This is really great, we've hit the bigtime now, baby!  I'm just so proud to say that I've been here from the start as a volunteer castmember and that even as fast and as large as we've grown, there's still a sense of the small faire in the core people.  I think it's important to remember we do this (hopefully) as much if not more for the patrons as for ourselves, and that their needs and interests should come first if we want to continue to grow and put on a wonderful show!  Thanks also to all the administration and legwork folks who don't see the spotlight- they're our backbone.

Post by: Grace "Rum" O'Malley on June 10, 2009, 11:36:54 AM
I'm glad we are now on the big midwest forum site!  yah!  I play Grace O'Malley for the cast and co-founder of the Hey Nonny, Nonny Pirate Show, which will be returning with our show, The Battle of the Sexes.  I've  been with the faire since the beginning and helped run things behind the scenes as the cast director.  We are looking forward to an incredible year!
We have a new Russian ambassador from Ivan the Terrible coming to meet Queen Elizabeth and look for a potential English bride for the Russian Czar.  The village will be hosting the comical Peasant Olympics in honor of the festival day, and it's rumored the village will be invaded by Sir Walter Raleigh and Sir Francis Drake's crews.  Be sure to sign up for recruitment and join in the daily Pirate Parade.  The Knights of Valour are returning as our jousters! Huzzah!  Fairies and Fantastical creatures from English and Roman mythology lurk and prance about unseen by Billericay's denizens.  I've even caught glimpses of a green man, nyads and a young satyr.   There is also talk by the locals of hosting a Danse Macabre (bones band) as we are drawing near to All Hallow's eve in October.  There will be a grand ground performance of the well known Shakespeare play, The Merry Wives of Windsor.  And be sure to stop in at Sheriff Lord Capel's jail to have your naughty friends arrested and beheaded by the executioner.  Or have them sing "I'm a little Teapot" to let them out of jail on good behavior.    Lots of new stuff to see and do!  If you are a playtron or cast from another faire, we would love to invite you to come play with us!  Send me a post if you want to join us formally in character for the day.
Title: Advanced tickets now available
Post by: Romeo 'the' Red on June 15, 2009, 06:49:49 AM
We now have advanced ticketing available through the website.  Because we are not for profit and we all ready charge a low price, we cannot offer ticket printing (or pay-pal).  What we do is either a mail in form   OR a website submission.  We send you an email confirmation and then the tickets will be waiting at the will-call window.

The normal price is $ 8 for adults and $5 for kids 4-12.  (younger are free).
The advanced tickets are $ 2.00 off the price of all tickets which makes it really cheap.

We should have the artisans list and the entertainment list up shortly.

Gosh Sir Walter!  That's cheaper than a movie ticket for a full day of fun!  Not too mention cheaper than a lot of other hard site faires!  You can't beat that in today's economy!  Shameless plug! :)

Post by: Romeo 'the' Red on August 07, 2009, 09:48:00 AM
 ;D
The faire is only 2 months away!  Check out the updated website with many of the performers (they are not all up there yet....but will be soon) and artisans listed (we currently have 60).  We have added an additional 2 stages to accomodate all the extra entertainment for our 5th year anniversary.

If you haven't checked us out before, it is well worth a trip.  The entrance fee is cheap ($8 at the gate or $6 before Sept 15), there are cheap hotels everywhere and even a few places to camp.
If anyone has any questions about the faire, post them here!

Looking forward to meeting new fans of the faire

For those who have never been to this show ...... its one of the best one weekend shows around.

There is much fun to be had and the group of volunteers that make this show happen need to know that there efforts to produce a great fun and educational show have succeeded!!!!

This show makes some of the big shows look bad.....giggle.... I think its because everyone involved really truely cares about what they are doing, and that warm fuzzy feely of friendship is everywhere.

Title: Opening day for the Fishers RenFaire is approaching!
Post by: Lady von Groper on September 28, 2009, 03:37:25 PM
Greetings Good Gentles:

I hear from the messengers that Her Majesty and Her Entourage are progressing towards Billericay as we speak!

And, it has been reported that glimpses of those dreaded sailors (and their ilk) from either Raleigh or Drakes crew (I know not which, and am too afraid to ask) have been spotted in and about the pub in Billericay.  Mayhap they be checking out the local menfolk, to press them into service to The Crown?

The streets are being scrubbed down, and buildings are getting a fresh coat of paint.  Even the ratcatcher is working overtime!

Her Majesty will be arriving this Saturday, the 3rd day of October, and will stay in our humble village Saturday and Sunday.  I urge you all to make the journey and join in the festivities - what glorious fun it will be!

I am SO looking forward to seeing my Ren friends and family!

I am so excited, I can hardly stand it!  I'll be onsite helping set up tents and getting the fairegrounds up and running this whole week.  Looks like the highs are in the low 60's for Sat. and Sun.  Slight chance of rain in the night on Sat.  Perfect English weather for strolling in the countryside!  I'll be in the Hey Nonny, Nonny Players Pirate Show again as Grace O'Malley.  Feel free to stop by and introduce yourselves!  Hope you all have a wonderful time!!  Join us in the Pirate parade after the Pirate recruitment ceremony at 3:15pm on Tansfield Stage.  See you soon!

Hi all,

Great news!  The weather looks great, the rain is only at night tonight and will be gone for faire days!  We are going to have gorgeous 60's, partly cloudy skies and a perfect weekend!  The ground is a little lumpy and soggy, so watch your step coming down the big hill and walking around.  The gophers have been busy, so I've jokingly named this years faire mascot to be a gopher!  We've had fun smooshing the gopher mounds flat with a back hoe.  I'm busy onsite today helping set up tents and stages, lots of busy work, we are trying to avoid the hay getting wet.  If it does rain a bit more tonight, I suggest bringing a towel or blanket to sit on the hay stacks for shows, so your posterior doesn't get squishy.  If you get to the opening gate at 10am, we have a cool little scene where a bagpiper and guard come down the hill to open the gate.  And don't forget to take your friends to the Gaol and have them arrested and thrown in for the crime of "Breathing the Queen's air"!  It's a hoot!  Can't wait to see you all, and for those who miss this year- we'll save you a seat and a pint at the Red Lion Inn for '10!

I had a blast with my brother knights of the order. Originally I planned for just a Saturday visit, but had such a great time hanging about with the order, that they convinced me to stay Sunday too. Or was it the mead? Either way it was one of the most relaxing times off from performing I had. Can't wait till next season.

I believe it were Connor Prairie that were in charge of the adult beverages that were offered for sale.  I was quite disappointed that the mead was all gone by the afternoon of the first day. :'(
Title: Re: Welcome to our new forum!!!!
Post by: Lord Magnus on October 13, 2009, 06:30:48 PM
I over heard a conversation by the attendants, that the new person that was in charge of the adult beverages, cancelled orders for the better beers ( Leinnies etc..) believing that  Rennies like beers such as Miller Lite ,Bud, etc... We spoke up to the parties that were discussing this and told them that he was flat wrong. So if enough folks "explain" the mistake, maybe next years selection will be better. But Hey, I was lucky and got Guinness. ( then ran looking for Sir William to let him know before they ran out..) ;)

Wow! I was unaware that the mead was gone by Saturday afternoon. Hopefully, they will provide a more suitable selection and prepare by stocking themselves for a bigger battle next year.

Thanks again my good friend Lord Magnus for seeking us out on the news that Arthur had arrived.  ;)

Good news!  Auditions for returning cast members are going to be January 17th, 2pm-5pm at Fishers Public Library, 5 Municipal Way, Fishers, IN.  We will hold auditions for new people in Feb. possibly the 6th, I have to still get confirmation from my guild heads so I'll keep you all posted.  Since 2010 is the Year of Legends we will be introducing new theme characters such as King Arthur's court, Robin Hood and his Merry Men, and Peter Pan for the kids.  Also, we will be auditioning for a new Queen Elizabeth role.  Returning cast gets first dibs but if we don't find the right lady, then it will be open to new cast auditions in Feb.  I'll keep you all in the loop this Jan. for more details.  Happy Holidays!
