I can't believe it's already June and it's only FIVE MONTHS until the renaissance festival comes back!
I'm really hoping The Lost Boys will be able to come this year. And I can't wait to see The London Broil!!!
Yup, we always look forward to CRF each year. You can always count on us for closing weekend!
I buy the seasons pass and go EVERY Saturday & Sunday..
Unfortunately CRF is NOT on the calendar at the Lost Boys web site.
However, the London Broil core audience will be pleased again this year!
Yeah, I know The Lost Boys will probably not be there. I know them. But I can still pray. and yes, I am sooo excited to see my buddies The London Broil!
I thought I'd say hello here as well! I'll be attending CRF for the first time this year and I'm very excited!!!
Lady Tess, I love the Lost Boys as well...missed them at my home faire in Georgia this year! I'll hope and pray along with you for their return!
Scotsman and Hibernian, I look forward to meeting you both as well! I still need to confirm what dates I'll be there!

Me and mine will only be attending the last weekend ... as we do every year. I suggest that this is always a good time to visit because, like me, there are a lot of invaders! Hope to see you there.
Thanks for the advice, Scotsman. Actually, closing weekend is on my list of available dates!!
I couldn't imagine not going to CRF every Saturday & Sunday.. 2007 & 2006, I did not miss a London Broil show. 2005, I only missed three (in two days) because I had to either get to the faire late or leave early. 2004 & 2003, I could only go on Saturdays and a few Sundays.
Last year (2007), we had to put our dog to sleep on a Saturday morning and I still made the first London Broil show. I felt a little bad about laughing and having a good time after having to do that.. but I knew I could not stay in that empty house.
Every weekend at CRF is a great weekend! But first timers be aware and watch the weather reports, Carolina can still be very hot and humid at the beginning of the run. You'll find plenty of shade from the trees and in the buildings but as always keep drinking that water. By the last weekend it's entirely possible you'll need a cloak in the morning at the tailgate but by midday almost always warms up to a glorious experience.
Yeah, the beginning of the faire will probably be real hot but it gets FREEZING by the end. I'm hopefully get a wool cloak as a birthday present this year!!
Thanks for the tips! I'll keep a keen eye on the weather and I look forward to seeing London Broil as well!!
They are awesome! I'll probably be at all the shows.
FOURTEEN WEEKS TO GO!!
CRF is the only faire I seem to have time for in me busy schedule, but I wouldn't miss a weekend for anything! As I have done for the past 8 or 9 seasons, I will be there rain or shine, hot or cold in me ren garb, drinking ale and thinking to meself, "what a wonderful day tis is".
Lance
We're looking forward to CRF as well. Lady Jai fell in love with it last year- it was our first visit. She could probably be easily pursuaded to attend twice! We'll see...
We'll do what we can to help yee in the endeavor Tim T! :)
You gotta love a faire that serves Guinness! Very few of them out there.
TWELVE WEEKS AND COUNTING!!!
always love going to the CRF. It's so much bigger than my home faire, Something for everyone all day long! ;D

Indeed, Lady G and I always look forward to our trip South! There is no better way to close out our faire season than here!
When are you going Scotsman? There's a chance Morwyn and I might hit this faire some time this season. I have a relative who lives about an hour from the faire grounds.

Lady Guinness and I always go on closing weekend - it is a pretty nice invasion and the weather usually cooperates. This year we are departing on 14 November and returning on the 16th. If you guys decide to come we will make it worth you while ... can you say bottomless tankard?
Also tell Morwyn that last year we stayed at a wicked nice Hilton in Charlotte that I think she would like ... let us know.
There is also a new hotel opening in Davidson at exit 30, Homewood Suites. It's 15 mins from Faire and about the same from the Galway Hooker at exit 28.

CARP! I asked for the wrong weekend off at work.... I guess I will be the only one at the tailgate on Nov 22nd.... sigh.....
Seriously, this means I'll only be able to come Saturday, no Friday meet and greet for me(han).....

I like Homewood. I stay at the one in Richmond all the time. I gotta be honest, the Hilton @ University Place is really nice and it would be hard to switch after last year and how well they took care of us.
I just checked out the rates and I got 2 Exec suites @ Hilton Univ Place for $30 per night less. I've got to keep what I have - but I will look again for next year. Good to know there is a Hilton property closer to faire. Thanks for sharing.
If you get a chance while your out here, check-out the digs and see if it will work for ya in the future. Maybe somebody else can use the info.
You are correct Scotsman, the Hilton @ University Place is very nice, I've stayed there before.
Thanks Scotsman, now we know where to find the party suite!

Absolutely! All are welcome ... but the real party will be at the festival ;D
TEN MORE WEEKS!!!
News Flash
There was a Hibernian sighting in Annapolis, MD ... that is all!
Indeed, Hibernian and his lady were in Naptown, drinking Guinness and having fun with the locals. Its always a great time when I have an opportunity to drink Guinness, eat fresh seafood and visit with great friends.
Looking forward to hosting Scotsman, Lady Guinness, and all our friends very soon at CRF!
Hey! It's only two short months till opening gate!
I CAN NOT WAIT! CRF is the highlight of my year.
8 Weeks & Counting!!!
mutters to self "where is the time going and what am I going to take to wear for garb? Noble or peasant? Should I start packing now?????"

Let me help ... YES, to all the questions!
I am just looking forward to finnaly wearing the garb i bought for Rendevous. If i can only get the right cash flow in time, that is.
For those who know me, this may come as a bit of a surprise...however...
I am traveling from Raleigh to CRF every weekend this year (as usual), however given the cost of petrol this year, I am looking to car-pool with fellow travelers. Also, any hotel-sharing this season would be helpful.
The Man In Black
"Then you must strive to be worthy of her love. Be brave and pure, fearless to the strong and humble to the weak; and so, whether this love prosper or no, you will have fitted yourself to be honored by a maiden's love, which is, in sooth, the highest guerdon which a true knight can hope for."
7 Weeks!
Chuck'n and I will be going Nov 15 & 16 from Raleighwood and would welcome any additional travelers.
5 WEEKS!
I can't believe it's almost here!!!

28 days to go :D
I can't wait!!!
FireFaerie, where are we meeting on the first day? I can't remember. Front gate? Casta Fortuna Stage (where London Broil do their shows)?
Was gonna find you at a London Broil show ;)
Which stage is the Casta Fortuna - I work well with landmarks ;P
It's in the middle of a bunch of the stores... across from The Chocolate Shoppe. There's a table with a green umbrella (The London Botique). You know where you can watch a woman make little statues out of clay? It's across from that.
London Broil shows are at 11am, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm & 4pm.
IM me on AIM sometime.
26 days!!!
THREE MORE WEEKS!!!!!
The clock's ticking! I see they have revised the CRF web site, not bad.
Plans are progressing for the invasion weekend, now all I need to see is my October work schedule to figure out when I can get there!
TWO WEEKS
NINE DAYS!!!
If you would like to meet me, you can find me at any London Broil show. www.myspace.com/tessa_83
THE RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL STARTS THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW!!
The day is finally here!
Have a grand day Lady Tess!!!! :) :) (*excited for you and excited for next weekend....*)
Spent Saturday with the Scouts selling popcorn, Sunday I'm at work, so I'm looking forward to reading reports from the lucky people who were able to visit Fairhaven during what has been a weekend of great weather!
The first weekend was great! I was so happy to see The London Broil guys again...
