I know. Graduation of the eldest grandchild takes priority here.

Consider coming go the MNRF over Labor Day weekend. We will be there. Just an idea.

Unfortunately, Labor Day weekend is also the opening weekend of DMRF; and we will be taking the grand kids.   This is the only faire they go to, unless their mom wants to bring them down the road an hour, to the Iowa Ren faire in Amana.  they are 3 and 5 years old.
David and I have MNRF on our short list-but considering the parking, dust, etc. we will most probably wait until it moves to it's new home.
Since our Clan rep in the area has been a no show for the last couple years, we are considering doing the Minnesota Scottish faire and Heavy games again-which was held in Farmington (I think it's moved).   The weather was horrible last time.

Edit: they moved to Eagan, MN. AND they are holding it on July 18th.    I'll see what Hubby wants to do.

Next weekend!  Stop by Clan Row and research your Clan and Tartan.
Watch the Heavy Games for a while (It's the real deal, not a demo-these guys are competing for prizes and bracket advancement for the National games).
There is plentiful bleacher seating, so you can take the opportunity to rest your feet.
If you've never seen a caber toss in person *gasp*, you can fix that next weekend.

The fest gets better every year-same royal court as we had at the Renaissance festival of Nebraska. June 6 and 7th at the Fairgrounds.  Paved parking and flushing toilets!

The closer we get-the better the forecast is looking.
Highs in the 70's, only a slight chance of rain (20-30%).   See you there!

Many thanks to Siouxland Renaissance Festival powers that be, that allowed me scurvy self and me brother Sean Daniels to be part of cast. Playing with Royal court, Dancing at Dance court, and interacting at front gate each day.

Rowan MacD.... I believe we had some interactions near Court Sunday morning... (A rose) and cherries!

Great energy and improv here!
And an indoor joust arena!
I will try to return next year.

Cheers!

Indeed!  I was finally gimping around again after the unfortunate gopher hole incident; and repairs to our tents after the Saturday night storm.
I believe you were also in the group attending the very amusing Dudley vs Anjou vs the Tax man test 'o strength at the Games?
Dudley competed with the Tax Collector for settlement of certain debts owed.  An ofttimes amusing attempt at the Sheaf Toss and weight-for-height-throws, punctuated by well timed insults, and royal flattery ensued (I can imagine there were some sore muscles on Monday).
This Royal Court also did the Renaissance festival of Nebraska for the first time this year.   They are very good, and tremendously entertaining.

Dang it, Spleen.  If I'd known you'd be there I would have made a greater effort to attend

Oh, I realized that Siouxland has it's own thread. If the mods wish-they may move this one over there !
